5 days of shooting 9mm AR on binary and fostec echo 2-

It was fun. .

Mix of surpressed and unsupressed out of 8”barrel.

At least you were able to spend more in ammo than you did on the trigger..?

Any hiccups before failure?

Ran real good, with the exception of being dirty/fouled up. Baffle striked a can in the process.  This is why I cant keep nice things. Well at least I have another one for 556

Post implies, but does not explain, some sort of trigger failure. Possibly due to OP's amateurish disassembly attempt?

Whatever this piece was it broke off.

Dissappointed in cast parts.

Hammer broke. Almost 100%. The Fostech Echo trigger is possibly the cheapest made expensive thing I can think of.

The fucking triggers get big dents where they strike the firing pin. Breakage is a matter of time, IMO.

They're made out of castings.

This x100.  3k is not a lot of rounds by most shooters' standards.

PCC's will eat a lot of nice single stage triggers. They produce something like 20% more g's cycling than a gas gun. This result is not surprising.

That was what I was told by a Timney engineer when my PCC's trigger shit the bed at a match. Heard similar stories from others. Went to a 2 stage.

Yes. And due to that have a huge amount more reciprocating mass in the system.
So not only is there a violent recoil force, there's a violent counter recoil force too.

I was somewhat shocked the first time I shot one.

Had an issue with mine last week also on my belt bed after about 1k rounds. It was really weird, it locked up. Hammer wouldn’t fall. Trigger was locked. Kept playing with it and somehow freed itself and started working again.

Didn’t fire it again cause I was dark and scared it wasn’t actually fixed. Wanted to look at it more closely once i got home. Seems good to go

Similar thing happened. Locked up- hammer would not drop. Selector would only shift to single and binary- would not move to safe. Hammer would not fall. It was fun while it lasted.

Bolt Speed in a blowback.

This is why some ramp their bolts, and why the Colt semi auto 9mm hammer is a little triangle affair (reduced mass).

I did not ramp my bolt, but I retained the 9mm hammer.  Also, I am using a 7 ounce .45ACP buffer in my 9mm SBR.

In for Fostech response...

...also shocked that other people are putting these things in SIG MPXs which are known to be harder on triggers than typical AR9 like OP describes!

I’d like to see what the hammer face looks like after 5k in an AR9. Interested to see what the failure was also. Had a little over 3k 5.56 on mine before I sold it. Hammer face was a bit dented but still ran great. Will most likely buy another come spring.

3 bolt catches sheared off.

Trigger pooped total round count is about 5-6k
Magpul sights poped off
Its fun, especially with a can and subsonics.
ETS mags work perfectly.

Going to get w tri-lug and another biniary- franklin armory.
Shooting without a can is pretty fun.

are you missing pieces? I have no idea what the item in the pic is that you say is the broken piece. maybe it just disassembled itself? the trigger explodes into little pieces if you accidentally pull the trigger before the pack is secured into the control pocket (did it a few times myself) so i got a good look at all the parts inside when i had to reassemble everything. I don't recall a flat piece like that. more pics of all the parts you have?

Same thing happened to me before I installed it. Good thing I was familiar with the hyperfire torson bar triggers. . Way more pieces. But I cant figure out what part broke. When I get back home and not in the middle of the desert I will open the one I have that is still working to figure it out.
