How do you keep direct threads from walking off? Do you just have to keep an eye on it or can you use Rocksett? Edit: I didn’t see the above post View Quote And a strap wrench to take your suppressor off. |

Similar thing happened. Locked up- hammer would not drop. Selector would only shift to single and binary- would not move to safe. Hammer would not fall. It was fun while it lasted. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Had an issue with mine last week also on my belt bed after about 1k rounds. It was really weird, it locked up. Hammer wouldn’t fall. Trigger was locked. Kept playing with it and somehow freed itself and started working again. Didn’t fire it again cause I was dark and scared it wasn’t actually fixed. Wanted to look at it more closely once i got home. Seems good to go |

Pretty cool thread, it’s nice to see GD talk about shooting every once in a while.

anybody have a recommendation on where to buy a franklin armory?
|

I had the little nub that holds the floating sear lever break off on a Gen 1 trigger pack.
Sent it back to Fostec and they welded/soldered it back on. Runs great as a recreational range toy. |

Quoted: Standard AR triggers and hammers are also castings. View Quote Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File These were stolen from the old Fostech thread. Their parts are too "soft", for lack of a better way to put it, and they're prone to stress fracturing from the metal casting process. Hell, people are receiving them with chipped sears. ----------------------------- I think this could have been a massively successful product....at twice the quality and half the price. Nobody wants to buy a mil-spec feeling trigger that breaks in a couple thousand rounds and the appearance isn't particularly confidence inspiring - especially not at $500. If at $300 even they were made to the quality of a G/Larue trigger, they literally couldn't make them as fast as they sold. |

Quoted: Fostech sucks , get a franklin arms and life will be more better !! View Quote From what I recall, most or all of the broken parts from the Fostech thread here were from pistol caliber rifles. So as mentioned earlier in the thread, i'm pretty sure that plays a big role. |

That was my initial thought as well - but I didn't want to say it because I thought that would be retarded, literally nobody would try and do that for viable gun parts It looks like I'm not the only one with those inklings. View Quote To do it proper, leave the housing in printed form, but have all the internals laser/waterjet cut out of tool steel. That would get them the best of both worlds. |

Does this happen with 5.56 as much as 9mm ARs? Seems like 9mm's have had more rep of beating up parts than 5.56.
I love my Fostech trigger in 5.56 - I'd hate to have it end up like that! They are not cheap. |

My fostech started doing 2 rd bursts in semi mode after ~ 300rds. Took quite a few emails for them to replace it. Durability is definitely a problem with their poorly made crap.

Watching my buddy’s experience designing and manufacturing the SCD, I guaranfuckingtee you that if Fostech came out with an American manufactured, machined bar stock unit, that gun owners would bitch and fucking whine about the increased cost.

Well I don't know exactly how man rounds but it was the same trigger I was having problems left with last time. Except this time didn't have a single hang up besides failure to feed due to links being too tight. I dont get it. Not that I want it to fail but it was like a whole new trigger compared to last time.
I'll take more pictures tomorrow but this is all I have for right now. I shot this plus another (2) 250.? round pouches. Attached File |
