This thread makes me sad.

My 95 Cobra sits dead in the garage...

Cannot pull codes off ECU after it suddenly died on me while out driving the back roads.   3rd gear climbing through 4500rpm and instantly dead.

Think it may sit til I can afford the ProM stand alone system I want for when my Dart SHP 331 with victor efi intake goes in.   Need money for Kmember and some other crap so all told about 7k to go.

Thank god I have my 05 GT back together after trans/clutch rebuild.  If I didnt have anything fun to drive I would probably be buying another damn stang.   05 GT is gonna get a blower and I am saving for a 2015 GG PP or a GT350.

i looked into it and while cheaper the Pro-M looks like it is ready to go out of the box and an easier self learning setup.

a lot of the MS stuff looks like it needs a bunch of elbow grease and splicing for functionality.   I know they have a drop in ECU for the factory harness but not sure I want to go that route either.

ProM has a fairly easy Coil On Plug conversion as well if I ever want to go that route.

god I love my 95.

It has been down 3 weeks and I miss it.   Shaking/vibrating cammed asshole of a car.   Slow with the stock 5.0 but fun.   The sensation of speed sets in at about 75-80 where as in my 2005 you have to be into triple digits and even further with the 2015.    The ride harshness, exhaust note, stiff track/street suspension, the 95 just feels like a big gokart and so fucking what if it doesnt handle as well or isnt as fast as my 2005.

I drove a 2015 GT PP the other day and while all around faster in every way the damn thing just isnt as fun as my 95.   Too civilized.

cannot wait to get my 331 in.   Hoping for 350rwhp and kissing 6500rpm.

I'd make all sorts of silly stuff if I had access to machines like that!

Mustangs look like fun.

Got a day off.  Spent the day working on a couple cars.

Did some assembly work on the turbo and intake tract of the car today.

My buddy polished the shit out of the fuel rails after I machined them.  Here they are installed.

A little graffiti on the blow off valve before installation.

Tigged the flange onto the piping and installed the blow off valve.

Flange tig welded on the piping and sensor and piping installed.

Waste gate flanges tigged on and waste gates installed.

Had another day off today.  So we did some more tinkering with the old bastard.

We started with building a fuel tank "Hat" to hold the twin in tank fuel pumps.

Here it is with all the bracketry done.

The block on the top in the photo above is a manifold for the pumps that we had to mill out of a billet.  This will be mounted to the hat with quarter inch screws. The manifold is sealed to the pumps and hat with an o-ring that will be in the beveled portion of the billet.  I did not get the pics of the drilling and tapping process for the manifold,  but it is drilled and tapped and done now.

Here is the radiator catch can that was made out of 3.5 inch intercooler pipe and a radiator cap assembly.

With all the inter cooler piping done and v-band clamped,  the massive air cleaner was installed in the inner fender.  Uneasy about the filter being so low in the fender,  we decided a guard/enclosure was needed.  This was made out of two pieces of sheet metal and shaped accordingly,  once fit it was screwed together with self tapping screws.

That's it for the notch for today.

We did get the "mullet hair dryer" done today.
Put a built 6.0 and a new glide trans in it after the old one was annihilated.  In the front of that was a new massive turbo.

The trans coolers installed.  Two piggybacked with a fan in the future for them.

I will have a video of the Camaro soon,  it is uploading right now.

Here is the video of the Camaros first start with the new motor and turbo.  Starter sounds horrible,  that is next on the agenda.

Little bump for the day guys.

The old stang isnt too far from starting.  things to do...  Fuel tank,  fuel line,  finish the under hood harness,  The main harness is done and the engine harness is done,  But we need to finalize the power distribution.  Need to relocate the battery to the trunk.  And she will be ready for some run time.

Finished the engine power distribution harness and fuse/relay box yesterday.  Now dash to under hood harness for key power and instrument power is next.

Also finished the dual fuel pump assembly and massaged the tank and added a slosh hat in the tank before dropping the assembly into the tank.

Got the transmission harness done and installed.  finalized the main chassis and engine harnesses.  All megasquirt wiring is done.  Plumbed in the vacuum lines for the wastegate and blowoff valves.  Plumbed all of the crank case evac system.  Primed and checked the fuel system for leaks.  All that is left is to install the trans cooler and fan and add lubes and coolants and a battery.

Probably about 5 hours of work left for it to start and drive.

This pic doesn't do any justice as far as how many wires had to be cut to length,  soldered,  heat shrinked and loomed.  Anyhwo,  this is a before pic of the wiring.

After wiring and tucking.

Under the hood.

I always meant to do a 460 Fairmont. With quiet exhaust, 351 air cleaner, crocheted seat covers, and throw pillows in the back window.

Mom's car.

But golly, there are so many fast cars out there now, hard to catch anybody sleeping.

I have actually contemplated going to check that track out.  I usually just hit the local 1/4 mile track in Moorhead.

I picked up a couple rear ends for the builds in Yankton a month or so ago.

Goodn,

Don't know what your hometown track is, but the track at Marion South Dakota is my favorite drag strip that is within a reasonable distance from me. Who knows, maybe I'll see ya there sometime!

If either one of you do, drop a dime. I'd like to go check out ARF guys rollin.

Major update.

All the work and fabrication payed off today.  After my buddy installed the trans cooler lines and final battery connections and some misc little things,  we primed and bled the intercooler radiators and the engine cooling system,  Primed the oil system on the engine and filled the transmission with fluid.

Loaded a quick base line tune from the mullet hair dryer projectand it cranked and fired right to life.  We did some final adjustments on things and its almost ready for the track and fine tuning.

On to the next project.

Sweet thread! My fox has a 347 but it's been sitting under a cover for the last 4 years because I bought a Coyote and now a Vette, I want to get back into it when I have the time/money to make it rowdy as fuck.

Does that 5.3 have a stock bottom end?  What cam?

Drove it the other day and found 2 little issues.  The master brake cylinder vacuum hose collapsed and there is a pinhole in the power steering hard line.   Simple stuff.

Next little project for it is to fab a quick spool valve so the turbo spools quicker.

The thing is a fuckin animal.

Just a little update.

Other than an alternator going tits up,  this thing is being daily driven.  No hiccups,  shit tons of giggles.
