An Extraordinary Beat-Down for the DOJ I attended a hearing on Monday afternoon before District of Columbia federal district court Judge Richard J. Leon that was one of the most “extraordinary” federal court hearings I have ever attended, to use Judge Leon’s description of the case. The hearing was over the temporary restraining order (TRO) and preliminary injunction (PI) being sought by the League of Women Voters and a host of other leftist groups to stop the recent decision of the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) to allow Kansas, Georgia, Alabama, and Arizona to enforce their proof-of-citizenship voter-registration requirement.
This morning, as I predicted would happen in an article on Sunday, the U.S. Justice Department took a dive and filed a pleading in which it not only failed to defend the actions of the EAC, but agreed with the plaintiffs and consented to both a TRO and a PI. Judge Leon called the pleading “unprecedented” and “extraordinary.” He said he had never seen such a document in his entire experience as a lawyer or a judge. *** The judge opened the hearing by reading into the record an astonishing letter he had just received from the chair of the EAC, Christie McCormick. It informed the court that DOJ had told the EAC that it would not defend the agency, and that it would not allow the EAC to hire its own counsel. View Quote I think it shows the blatant in your face “unprecedented” and “extraordinary" orchestrated undermining the of sovereignty of America by a enemy from within. I am of the opinion that we have to stop thinking of these people that do this as Americans they are about as American as an ISIS member, both want to destroy America as we know it, the only difference is the means. |

Foreign and Domestic.
Never thought I'd see domestic become the bigger problem. It's almost over. |
The need to turn this Nation 180 degrees back to the Right is more evident than ever
That was depressing, but thanks for the post, OP.
Maybe 8 years of Hillary and her Vice President Julian Castro is ultimately better for our nation, in the long run, at this point? We all know the leftists control the federal apparatus, and they are making extraordinary strides in weaponizing it against us and even just the rule of law itself. Maybe we need another decade of abuse? |
DOJ has gone full 'tard. It has become a total rogue agency with no real checks.
Too bad there was never a mechanism in place in our constitution to prevent this. |
They're from the government and they're here to help us themselves.
It's been happening at the state level for quite a while. Voters pass law, lefty group sues, state AG puts hands in pockets and refuses to do job, lefty group wins lawsuit, voters get middle finger. |
In light of recognizing this, is there anything the Judge can do?

every polling place in America staffed by volunteer leftists...why would they do that?

"would not allow the EAC to hire its own counsel" - wut?
What law would conceivably apply here? |
And people criticize me when I say I would rather have a military coup take over than have these fucks run the country.
Mexican Rules. No surprise. Time that WE started playing by them. |
This should have been a wake up call of how Obama's thugs operate once in positions of power in the government.
At this point the states should do what they want and simply ignore DOJ
If Colorado and Washington can do it for the weed, anyone should be able to do it for anyone. The federal government is lawless; the states should reciprocate. |

OP you are 100% correct. These people are not my countrymen. When we actually start treating liberals as true enemies, we might stand a chance of winning.

And people wonder why Trump's campaign is as strong as it is and gaining steam.

Here's two more articles on the hearing. Sounds like the judge is very skeptical of the DOJ.

In a case like this, it's up to the Congress to act with what powers they have, like say, impeachment. Thank God at least the judge in this case has some honor. |

Looks like in this case, the judge is not an activist. I'll be interested in seeing his decision that is due today. If you haven't read the actual article, you should. It appears that one of the checks and balances of the system is working.

You know that liberals would
1. hand voter registration cards (pre filled-out to register as DNC) and welfare cards to anyone crossing the southern border (shit, probably any border) 2. dollars to donuts would have built a wall years ago if illegals coming into the US were prone to vote Republican |

I don't know if the judge is liberal or conservative but I think any decent person would have to be disgusted that these motherfuckers are blatantly trying to ruin our elections. Every fucker in this administration needs to get the Qadaffi treatment.Thats the only way things will change for the better.

Don't worry,
We'll get payback when our attorney general fails to put his back into defending the NFA, GCA, etc. in court. That's the only way we can get any relief, you know. |

I think a convention of states is probably the only hope for reigning in the federal beast.
Scary times. |

It sucks because it will break up our beloved country but if this left wing lunacy does not stop I see no other non violent solution. I mean it has gone so far as this DOJ defending against the Election Laws in place..............this is so fucking topsy turvy that I see no other solution. |
