My wife had Focus screw up her iPhone but she's not tech savvy. She does rely on it for scheduling so it was a problem until I could un-fuck it.
I have one small request. Alarm, as in waking alarms, needs to have a separate volume control completely separate from any other phone function. I'm a light sleeper. I set the alarm volume at its lowest setting. Then I have to reset it each night because I've adjusted some other volume during my day. Alarm volume is a set once and forget adjustment that should never by tied to the side buttons. Android had this figured out way, way long ago. Apple could make this change but it's one of those design decisions where Apple feels it's smarter than the end user. |

There was no way to do that with the mouse. There also another component to that design but that's a different story |

Oh I’ve got a funny one that just happened today.
I have my set of often-used folders and servers on the left side of my work iMac. On occasion, they just go bye-bye. Today for the first time, some went bye-bye, others got added that I never added. Some were the same. Just random, not a big deal, but strange. This is on a work machine I don’t support myself and is forced to use older OS’ because of compatibility issues (and honestly, laziness from our IT). |

There's a perfectly good Touch power key in the upper right- maybe I want the damn machine to stay off until I hit it. Also related- a real "phone is locked and not accepting touches" setting (short of powering it down) until I hit a physical side button, so I can put my phone in my pocket and it won't put me in "change my background/start recording video/drain my battery with the flashlight/start World War III" because it thought it saw a "gesture". Rudder did you ever lurk in comp.sys.mac.advocacy back in the glory days of Joe Ragosta?
I ask because a discussion like this was impossible there. The slightest critique of anything Apple was met with a furious attack. "I love my Macbook, but I wish it had x instead of y." "Wintroll!!!! If x were better than y then Apple would have done it that way!!! GTFO!!!!!" It was a riot |

On the iPhone and ipad
Selecting text to copy or paste is still fucked yep 20 years later Autocorrect is fucking useless. Worst of anything randomly picks retarded words that were nothing like interested because I put a c instead of an s or some such bullshit or worse tells me I’ve spelt something wrong but it can’t find the right speaking again when I’m one letter out one L instead of LL for example All sorts of other issues but those are the main ones Actually my biggest annoyance Burst photographs to send over the air I have to select every single one by hand because there is no select all option why ffs then when I send it it compresses it all again so again I have to select all by hand again. On the other apple device |

1) Have a way to disable "Autoplay" when connecting to a Bluetooth device. It is beyond annoying to get into a car and have it start playing music or audiobook as soon as it connects. I have looked and tried all of the suggestions from Google search and nothing seems to stop it from playing. It doesn't even open the music app most of the time, I have to open it and force quit to make it stop playing.
2) When I force quit safari, close all tabs. Don't reopen them when safari is reopened. |

Feature parity with Android on some of the more day-to-day usable camera features, like 'best shot' capability, and AI compositing of separate images. More resolution and better lenses is great, but what you actually do with the images is what matters.
A lot of the usability features that were bugging me have been addressed in iOS18, now I wish they'd take a long pass at HomeKit. |

i really need to submit this to /feedback, but tvos needs the ability to passcode lock any app. and be able to unlock the app on a verified device, instead of putting in a pin on the screen.
go to open photos app on apple tv get a prompt on the closest verified device on the same network as the apple tv enjoy app i would use the photos app alot more to watch videos/review pics if a random houseguest couldnt turn on my apple tv and browse my photos app and plex. |

There's some good feedback in this thread. Always submit your feedback to Apple directly at https://www.apple.com/feedback/
If you're not sure what category to submit it under or have questions about what to say or whatever feel free to PM me. If you PM me your feedback (and you're welcome to) I'll always tell you to also send it through the website because I rarely will remember it all and if it's not something that's directly my AOR it slows down getting your message to who needs to hear it |

bump. ipadOS 18 seems smooth so far. something weird (prior to v18) was i went from an old ipad 5 that wouldnt get hot at all, to an ipad air 5th gen that will get super warm once i start using safari. stop using safari actively the air ipad will cool down. same tab groups/processes/etc used on iphone 13 17.7 , and ipad pro from 2022 on 18.0 zero heat issues. directly upgrayyed to the 5th gen air from the old 5th gen ipad image. everything is synced /background process app synch usage the same across all devices. only the air ipad gets really warm.
eta: still happening with the ipad air on v18. |

Apple accepts a higher price because out of 10,000 memory modules there may only be 1 or 2 accepted. The ones rejected are the ones consumers can purchase. Apples philosophy is, its better to pay more and not have memory/storage failures or data corruption then to risk user data. Even if you have a backup, if the stored file is corrupted in storage it can (and often does) corrupt the backed up file as well. This is not even mentioning specs.. thats a whole different conversation |
