These are just the ones I keep on top my gun safe for taking the trash out at night/going out with the dogs/closing up the chicken coops. These don’t include any of my “nicer” lights I keep other place a or my 5 I have for work.
I probably own ~30 flashlights and don’t really know why Attached File |
I have more than I need, but I avoid the $5 Chinese ones people here tend to rave about.

Which one is the perfect mesh of all those lights? One that would ride in a pocket all day, throw a good 100' flood of light and not weigh too much.
I have a bunch of pistol lights without pistols to mount them to, thanks to Olight sales.

I admit to being an Amazon flashlight junky. I found one I like and carry on duty. I also carry one of those TV model lights in the cruiser. They work surprisingly well and use AA batteries. I learned my lesson when the $100 surefire fell in Lake Erie.

Yeah I always seem to grab a pack when they are on sale at Costco or whenever I go to Harbor Freight I use the free coupon to grab those throwaway flashlights. I have a couple of high quality ones thou.

I've got a few more than OP. That's too many by any reasonable standard for me. I'm rarely out anywhere after dark.

You can never have too many flashlights.
No matter how many you own there will come a time when you absolutely positively cannot find one single flashlight, so it makes sense to have a stockpile of the darn things. Personally, I believe they come alive at night and wander about the apartment, not unlike the toys in Toy Story. |
I have a couple of Mag-Lite's and also several 16550 Lithium battery powered LED lights that are like daylight when lit. Absolutely blinding and I use a removable one on the front of my bicycle. They are not that popular because they use that odd 16550 rechargeable battery. Most people prefer disposable batteries but these LED's need the power that a 16550 can deliver. They use a Cree U2 LED IIRC.

I have a drawer full that I went through before I found a keeper.
Now everywhere you look in my house or vehicle, you see a Streamlight Polytac. |
I had to laugh when someone here once said, "I have so many flashlights that when the lights go out in my house, the first time I move, I'll trip and fall on a flashlight."

Fellow flashlight nut checking in. Almost bought another one the other day, that I have no actual need for, but just thought was cool. We've had threads on this before and this appears to be a very common trait among ARFCOM members. I probably have around 10 total, or maybe a dozen if you count currently serving WMLs. |

No!!!!!
Heck I just got one a few weeks ago.. my first true thrower, Thrunite Catapult V6 Attached File Attached File This is an old family photo.. there are quite a few more now. |
I have 4 streamlights on my tool box right now.
2 stingers, a stinger with lightpipe and a AAA head lamp. I also have a cornwell UV light up here too but thats for A/C leaks so it doen't count. In both my vehicles I have Strion LED's along with one in my room and one in my kitchen, and one of the AAA single LED pen lights in the tool box in my truck, and another head lamp LED in my SXS. shit, also found another streamlight stylus in my box so 5 of them. |
I have a houseful of them. The cheapo multipacks from Costco are great to keep around in all the rooms.
Oh hell yeah. I have more than I can count. There are 15 on my desk right now, and I have others in various rooms around the house as well as in my car and garage.
I even got one of those Atomic Beam things from someone last Christmas, and let me tell you they are pieces of crap - so-so brightness, and too sharp a cutoff from light to darkness (no spill). But I also HATE zooming flashlights, so there's that. Today's flashlights are amazing compared to the shit lights we had in the past. |

Eh, flashlights can just be a hobby to some people. The sillyness starts when guys justify their hobby as having the utmost practicality. Kinda like knife guys with 87 different folders.
Your ultrasupremetacticaltieroneomgwtfbbq "torch" with 87 different settings is cool and all, but in the end it's just a silly flashlight. Glad your having fun though. |
I think it may be genetic. My grandfather was a flashlight addict. My father is a flashlight addict. I'm a flashlight addict. Looking back, maglite was a gateway flashlight!!
Cheap bastard here. I go with the $1 flashlights and put them everywhere.

I'm tapped out at about 25-30. I carry the smaller lipstick lights, since I'm a city slicker and don't need to find Bessie out in her field at night. They don't take up much space, either. A few minutes here, a few minutes there, is enough. Similar to my SAK SwissChamp. No need for a Busse Generalissimo Deluxe hanging down my leg. Anyhow... Chris |

Your subconscious is making you buy them...
It is trying to compensate for the darkness it sees deep down in your soul. |
yup, got too many. Bought a ton, still get a lot for free for testing and reviews.

I have cheap Harbor Freight lights all over the place with cheap Amazon batteries inside.
The quality working man flashlights are strategically placed where work usually occurs. There are never enough flashlights. |
Where the hell else am I going to store all those dead batteries?

who makes those clip on mini glow sticks?

ARFCOM has a weird obsession with having too many flashlights
I have 3, including one on my HD pistol You shouldn’t need many more than that |
No, but headlamps? Yes.
Every hunting season I need a new headlamp. They always go to shit on me before the season is over. Finally decided to drop some money and get a couple high quality headlamps. Guess what I couldn't get to work yesterday when getting my hunting gear ready? |
