Or maybe they wear their ACUs under their Po Po uniform all day like Superman???

they aren't wearing it all day, they change before or en route.

Most teams like this are an ERT or a strike team, not so much swat.. All this gear is staged and ready to go. They will practice and drill over and over and can be geared up AND on site in a very short period of time. Others have their gear on the rig and dress suit up on the drive over.
You would be surprised how quickly you can dress and gear up when you practice over and over to do it. |

Instead of focusing on getting there and processsing incoming intel, instead everyone is like a tacti-tard at their first USPSA match, making sure they look cool for the big day. Maybe PDs should start doing some Lean 6 Sigma training on how to monopolize their time better on SWAT. |

Those usually aren't first response guys on the scene. A patrolman will throw a pc on and a rifle and go. These guys will relieve that guy within a short amount of time.

How else will you blend into the parking garage, dumpster, and office park if you AREN'T wearing multicam? I mean you can't just roll up in a giant MRAP surrounded by squad cars and flashing lights and NOT blend into the shrubbery.
The more you know! |

Mutlicam was for civilians before the military started using it.

And that's pretty much my point. It would seem faster to just don the extra SWAT gear over your current clothing then to have to change pants/shirt as well. If expediency is the goal, I would think it'd slow down the response to have to change pants/shirt. And theres nothing wrong with rocking the ol OD Green Vietnam era look. Civilians had multicam before the military adopted it.
The military should quit trying to be civilians. |

Quoted: I'd say when we respond some where, at least 2-3 of us are in patrol uniform or slacks and button down shirts (CID guys). If the operation is a preplanned, butt ass early in the morning operation, we will all be in our greens. Dudes that are responding from home will be in greens 100% of the time. View Quote |

Crye Precision brah...
It helps with operational security if you have a specific pattern or color that can't be easily duplicated by some jack leg. |

Most agencies cannot afford a full-time SWAT team, sitting around waiting for "the call".
Typically, SWAT, like Bomb Squad, etc are secondary duties to a primary job like Patrol, Detective, etc. Most guys change clothes at their trunks while Patrol holds the perimeter. |

Quoted: Ahh yes, Crye Precision... You are definitely not operationally operating without Crye. I always loved going to big National 3GUN matches and seeing all the fat dudes sporting their 3XL Crye Precision pants. Cant run, gasping for air while loading their shotgun at the shotgun loading table, but dammit, I look fucking awesome in my Crye multicam with removable kneepads! View Quote |

SWAT=neckbeards of law enforcement?? question not statement. I have noticed all their fancy shit when they show up, after everything goes down, or they are finished taking out a perp with a knife or a pistol with their military weapons and body armor.

I always wonder why so many SWAT teams choose Multicam. It looks like clown shoes in a urban setting. Should stick with black or grey colors. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

You'd think they'd go with Urban grey colors or something. Should stick with black or grey colors. Black is sucks to blend in and is HOT. Grey sticks out like a sore thumb, they tried it in the 90's. OD green is about the best all around color for all areas, day and night use. |
