I knew I had to educate him myself. But he was ready for Calculus in the 10th grade. I wasn't allowed to take more than Algebra 1 in high school. Anyway, if I can give any parents any advice it is to never swear you will never do something because it's mostly likely that will become your norm. But also take a look at your adorable toddler and think about what kind of an adult he will become and continue to assess that question. That makes sense. When I was 18 I thought I didn't want to bring kids into this world because it's so messed up.
every generation thinks that. That was 1990. A few years later, I came to my senses. same will happen to gen Z, but the number who come around seems to be shrinking. |

This is such a strange topic to get so emotionally invested in.
If you want to have kids, great, have them. If you don't want to have kids, great, don't have them. I don't understand why people feel personally attacked because someone else doesn't want to have children. Or it's some badge of honor you were able to reproduce, which is like the most basic function of humans. Some people simply don't want kids. They're not broken, they simply don't want to bring more mouths to feed in a world of dwindling resources and every generation having it harder than the last. If you're struggling to make ends meet, why would you make it harder on yourself and likely give that kid a poor life? That's the smart decision for that situation. If you have the resources and family help to raise a child, go for it. |
