Quoted: Thought the cause was still under investigation. Either idiot campers or idiot environmentalists View Quote It is still under investigation. It started near a campground during an exceptionally dry time with no clouds. So, it was definitely lightning. Just like the three new fires that popped up in the last week. Thor did this. |

Quoted: A Lakeland Terrier breeder I know up that way is having the same issue. She’s pretty stressed trying to make evac plans for her dogs View Quote I may piss and moan about the smoke, but damn if I don't feel awful for the folks who are directly affected. My wife's aunt and uncle had to evac last week. Puts things in perspective, that's for sure. |

I will say though, that there are no real world consequences that keep me from wanting a mastiff army. Ok, maybe one, and that would be a mastiff mutiny. |

Quoted: Also, hope the aunt and uncle don’t lose their home. ?? View Quote From what I understand, the fire stopped on the other side of the street from their house. Some cold, humid weather came out of the east a few days ago and prevented it from growing. Now it's a waiting game until the next cold front. The good news is, many of the mandatory evac zones have been changed to voluntary. Hopefully it stays that way. |

View Quote Not any time soon at our current residence. It would be something I'd heavily consider for retirement though (assuming we get a bigger property). We've talked about doing a mastiff retirement home too and adopting the old dogs that can't find a home. Again, assuming we get a bigger property where we could accommodate multiple big dogs. For now, one will be enough. Once she's an adult, we could probably do one more puppy. |
