Little bit more of a disagreement there, one that is very heavily titled towards the police, as shown by our resident glow-in-the-dark moderator. So I chime in when I see it. That’s legitimately my bad, I forgot about the second half of the post. I think cops are over tasked and undertrained in certain key areas regarding the constitution, their role as peace officers, and what they are and aren’t allowed to do in the course of their duties. I think police culture has taken on a dark tone of “us vs them”, where “them” has morphed from criminals to everyone else who isn’t a cop. On top of that, cops (especially in ban states) have been elevated above the rest of us when it comes to exercising civil rights. Cops can conceal carry in all 50 states thanks to LEOSA regardless of local laws. The rest of us have to ask the crown for permission, and in some states we will never get it. Most ban-heavy states have carveouts for LEO, where the citizens can’t have certain guns at home, but police can. That absolutely isn’t right, cops are not a separate class of citizen. If you or anyone else thinks they are, you’re part of the problem. That’s a sampling to answer your question. |

At the end of the day, again, I'm on my own in this world and I'm responsible for myself and family. I don't want anyone else to jeopardize their own responsibility to themself or their family on my behalf, that's a disservice to yourself and yours. And again, as I sit on my patio enjoying a beer, I'm on my own if someone wanted to do me or my property harm. Well, me and this G20 here, but ultimitely it's up to me, not the police
