I'm in the home of Wal-Mart here in Bentonville Ar. I can absolutely see this happening, considering some of the douchebags that are running the company now. Locally they never seem to have any 556 or 7.62 anyway. There's a hole on the shelf, but that's about it. Unfortunately, doing business with the big W here is almost a lock, as they pretty well own the grocery market here. View Quote |

I live in a town of 9000 people. Our only gun shop closed (owner died) about a month or so ago. Wal-Mart is the only place to buy ammo without driving 50+ miles. Sucks. I guess mail order will have to do. I will have to be more diligent in where my stock numbers are. View Quote |

And that's how businesses go under. But then again, Liberals have always hated Walmart for being Efficient.

A Newsmax article dated Aug. 5 says Walmart has no plans to change its ammo sales policy despite petitions urging them to do so. FWIW.

Just called our local store and they've received no word from corporate and it would be corporate who would be making that decision.

The open carry ban wouldn't surprise me in the least after that jack ass walked through dressed just like the mass shooter from a week earlier

So how does all of this have to do with the shooting? Did the shooter go to Walmart because they sold ammo & guns? View Quote The rest is to placate the grabbers who have been “demanding” action. I wouldn’t be surprised if all of those things were implemented nationwide. Funny thing is that the sales on ammo, handgun and 556/762x39, are literally the only reason I head into Walmart. If those are gone, I will have absolutely no reason to enter one again. And that’s actually fine by me, because I really hate the experience. If someone wants to draft a professional letter to Walmart corporate expressing our collective opposition to this stuff, I’ll sign on to it. |

I’ll now be buying my 5 gallon buckets of Cheesy Poofs and Magnum Sized condoms elsewhere now. Fuck ChinaMart.

My local walmart doesn't stock weapons and hasn't stocked ammo in about 18 months.
I remember buying Perfecta 9mm and 45acp from them back in the day. One time I tried to buy them out and the dumb clerk saw the .22lr limit sign and said I could only get 2 boxes. I don't buy ammo there because the prices aren't all that great, but for the everyday person who isn't aware of ammo sales online (or is intimidated by the process), I'm sure Walmart isn't too bad. |
|
None of the Walmart’s by me carry firearms and their selection of ammo stinks
Either way it will be another win for the lgs |
|
If true it's simply another reason for me to continue to never set foot in any of those shithole freakshows AKA WalMart.
|
|
That sucks. I pick up some odd ball calibers there. Cheaper than the LGS
Example 25 and 32 ACP |

Saw a big brown fellow OCing an olive drab SCCY in there yesterday. They come in black, white, tan, gray, green, FDE, pink and even purple! color shouldn’t matter. |

My local Wal-Mart has never sold guns but does sell ammo....I’ve bought ammo there when I’ve seen a good deal but mostly mail order now.

I saw a no open carry at a Walmart in North Georgia over the weekend.

We (Sheriff's Office) have been notified by our local WalMart that effective today, the following rules at WalMart are in place. We were told this applies to all WalMarts. 1) No open carry. If you open carry you will be asked to return your gun to the car. 2) After existing stocks of ammo are depleted, they will no longer sell handgun ammo 3) After existing stocks are depleted they will no longer sell 5.56, 7.62x39 or .223 ammo 4) WalMart will no longer sell semi auto centerfire rifles. Just telling you what WalMart told us. This is a shame. Most of the Walmarts in my general area all sell ammunition, guns and a lot of it. Aside from the LGSs (and their high prices for that ammo) the only other retail option are Academy Sports. That is where I buy most of my ammo. Naturally, if Academy no longer has Walmart to compete with in that regard, prices there will go up with increased demand. There are likely 5-10 Walmarts for every Academy in my observation. The math is simple. Glad I shifted to making my own pistol ammo during the last panics under Obama. Get another Demarxist in the White House and all the previous panics will pale in comparison. |
|
To be honest I haven't bought ammo from Walmart in over 30 years if I recall correctly. The people working the sports dept. are not of higher education to begin with.
Fleet Farm or as a last resort ACE Hardware is my go to locally. |
|
Whatever. I think I bought a box of .22 once in my life at walmart. Always preferred the local gun shop for most things.
Kind of like the hippies' "buy local" movement to support their local shops and shit. |

I read an article recently, after the El Paso shooting, that said Wal-Mart only sells 2% of the firearms in the country, but 20% of the ammo. I was surprised it was that high (if true), but their prices are great.
