Walmart does not sell any of that in NJ now and never has as far as I can remember.

Friend of mine works at Walmart in sporting goods and just confirmed this.

Walmart is already suffering financially. They are no longer the nation's biggest retailer, falling to 2nd after Amazon. With the current trade war escalating with no end in sight, Walmart may be in real trouble if they are forced to increase prices for all their Chinese made crap. You would think they would be looking for ways to increase sales, not for ways to throw away a segment of their market.

When will Walmart stop selling certain foods since Obesity kills 300,000 people each year? That's 821 killed everyday. When will Walmart stop selling cell phones to teens since they kill 11 teenagers every day? That's 4015 teen killed every year. When will Walmart stop selling meat from cows since cow farts contribute to "Climate Change" AND WE ONLY HAVE 12 YEARS LEFT!!!!

I really don't give a crap about them stopping open carry. The last guy I saw open carry in Walmart had a pearl handled stainless Beretta 92 in a black spit-shined cross draw holster. Every time he walked past a person he would kind of step sort of sideways so people could see his rig. Reminds me of this meme. Attached File

We (Sheriff's Office) have been notified by our local WalMart that effective today, the following rules at WalMart are in place. We were told this applies to all WalMarts. 1) No open carry. If you open carry you will be asked to return your gun to the car. 2) After existing stocks of ammo are depleted, they will no longer sell handgun ammo 3) After existing stocks are depleted they will no longer sell 5.56, 7.62x39 or .223 ammo 4) WalMart will no longer sell semi auto centerfire rifles. I'm in the home of Wal-Mart here in Bentonville Ar. I can absolutely see this happening, considering some of the douchebags that are running the company now. Locally they never seem to have any 556 or 7.62 anyway. There's a hole on the shelf, but that's about it. Unfortunately, doing business with the big W here is almost a lock, as they pretty well own the grocery market here. View Quote |

I haven’t bought any ammo there since Sandy Hook.
I just order on line, save money and my back at the same time. |

Walmart plans to dramatically step back from gun sales after 'horrific' shootings
Walmart said Tuesday it will discontinue all sales of short-barrel rifle ammunition that can be used with military style weapons, discontinue sales of handgun ammunition and stop all handgun sales in Alaska, following two "horrific" shootings at Walmart stores this summer. The biggest retailer in the world is also asking customers at Walmart and Sam's Club to no longer openly carry firearms in stores, in states where "open carry" is allowed, unless authorized law enforcement officers are present. It said it won't be changing its policy for customers who have permits for concealed carry. And it will be adding signage to stores in the coming weeks to communicate the changes. "We believe the opportunity for someone to misinterpret a situation, even in open carry states, could lead to tragic results," CEO Doug McMillon said in a memo distributed to employees on Tuesday. "We hope that everyone will understand the circumstances that led to this new policy and will respect the concerns of their fellow shoppers and our associates." "We've also been listening to a lot of people inside and outside our company as we think about the role we can play in helping to make the country safer," he added. "It's clear to us that the status quo is unacceptable." McMillon said he will also be sending letters to the White House and other Congressional leaders, asking for action on "common sense measures." He's calling on the government to "strengthen background checks and to remove weapons from those who have been determined to pose an imminent danger." "Congress and the administration should act," the CEO said. https://www.cnbc.com/2019/09/03/walmart-plans-to-dramatically-step-back-from-gun-sales-after-horrific-shootings.html |

Looks like I am going to be finding a substitute for wal-mart. Rural King will replace 80 percent of my need.
Amazon another chunk, along with Kroger’s. The pharmacy at Sams Club will be harder but I can likely replace it online. |

I don't get the open carry thing.
So if I carry concealed it makes the gun not really there in the store? |

Our local store manager wouldn't do it if he had a choice.
It's a NATIONWIDE directive from WalMart |
