Perhaps my search skills are lacking but I just jumped over to Ain’t it Cool News And The AV Club, noted for their movie coverage, and any mention of this movie is strangely absent.

Yeah, heard this joke. It's only funny to people who don't know Marvel Comics. Vibranium has been in the comics, and has been Wakanda's primary export since Stan Lee created it in 1966. So, yeah, haha. It's somewhat ironic in its modern context. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Previews look good I will watch it. Although I will watch any Marvel movie. Although after Logan which is sorta Marvel sorta Fox not doubt any will be as good as Logan. It was a good end to Hugh Jackman playing that character. View Quote I want to be up on the storyline before Infinity War hits & it looks like a good portion of IW will happen in Wakanda. Still need to watch the latest Thor too. |

. Marvel cancelled the BP comic last year due to poor sales it takes about 30,000 sales per month for a title to "make it" BP's last issue sold less than half that doesn't mean the movie will or won't be good View Quote Guardians of the Galaxy was a multiple-cancellation comic book. It is a slow time for movies . I will bet there are copies available now with a head blocking the bottom of the screen.

I'm slightly tempted to go see it at the more 'urban' theater in town sometime opening weekend. The audience reactions will likely be more entertaining than the movie.
I AM interested in seeing it, but probably won't be in theater unless I do the above. Well-armed, of course. Would probably also wear soft armor under a jacket if I had any. |

Remember that the last two weekends have under-performed, last week it was because super bowl, prior to that it was bad weather. This weekend under-performing in any way means racist, so make sure to buy tickets, even if you don't plan on going. |

From Rotten Tomatoes critic David Ehrlich.."You believe in T'Challa, you believe in Wakanda, and you believe - maybe for the first time - that the MCU actually matters." I mean you can't make that kind of BS up. He might as well said "for the first time the MCU acknowledges that black lives matter." Yep all of the other MCU characters and movies don't matter, just Black Panther. Maybe they'll have him single-handedly take out Thanos. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/B6A5ACulvjQ/maxresdefault.jpg Uncle Tom and all that. |

Captain America's shield was originally nothing super special in the early days of the character, then when Lee came up with vibranium, they retconned his shield to be vibranium. In the MCU it has been mentioned a number of times in the Cap and Avengers movies, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. In fact, wasn't a whole subplot in Age of Ultron about Ultron needing vibranium from smuggler Andy Serkis in Wakanda to build his army of Ultrons? View Quote |

We have a nice discount theater nearby. I'll probably see it at a weekday matinee for a couple of bucks.

I love ARFcom. You'll rag the guys that spent $0 to watch the Superbowl with friends while eating and drinking beer, but some of you can't wait to spend $15 a ticket to go watch SJW/BLM assholes that want you disarmed and rounded up and in camps.

I don't care that much about this movie either way, I'm kinda sick of superhero movies... But the "conservative" virtue signalling here to automatically hate this movie you haven't seen because liberal virtue-signalers are raving about is silly.

Probably have to watch it to keep up with the Marvel movies. I first saw the black panther on Captain American Civil War. I watched Thor: Ragnarok last week and saw Dr. Strange which hit me because I didn't watch Dr. Strange before that one. Funny thing is I watched Dr. Strange last night and saw the clip from Thor: Ragnarok in the ending credits. I wonder if Stan Lee will make his appearance in this one

Black is the black blackness of black. When black stops to black about the black, the black really becomes black. Black times the black black, black in the black of the black. But then when black blacks black blackness, black black black. So, really, when black blacks about black, it is black.

I'm not real excited about it but I'll watch it at some point. I enjoy the Marvel movies. The 100% rating is obviously extremely suspect though...it still may be good.
The hype reminds me of Wonder Woman...so many ridiculous reviews about a movie that was overwhelmingly not overwhelming in any way. Gal Gadot is smoking hot, but the rest of the movie was predictable and boring. There's so many other awesome female heroes out there, why did everyone make such a huge deal about Wonder Woman? (see Sarah Connor, Ripley, etc). I suspect Black Panther may end up the same way.... ETA- from the link: Business Insider said that "Black Panther" arrived at a perfect time. "Like 'Wonder Woman' last year, 'Black Panther' is a project that fans have been waiting decades to see. And just like 'Wonder Woman,' it was worth the wait." Ugh, great |
