It was my favorite... before the whole uncleanliness issues at Blue Bell.

I have never tried it - but then I make my own 'homemade' vanilla bean ice cream which is what I consider the best (but it sure ain't cheap to make at ~$20/qt)...

The listeria outbreak hasn’t hurt their business apparently. The plant in Broken Arrow, OK is currently expanding.

Who's home are they making it in?  Is it just like, some random employee's kitchen everyday, or did they take over Earl's house while he's away fishing for the week?

Switched to Adam's Extract Vanilla Ice Cream after all the listeria outbreaks, it was tough to switch but it is Texas made and mighty tasty too.

I just get store brand after that listeria thing.

I will tell you though the strawberry ice cream by blue bell was top notch compared to the store brand.

The city of Brenham had to lay off employees due to Blue Bell shutting down.  The plant draws something like 40-50% of the power from the city owned utilities.  The city government lost a ton of revenue when the plant wasn’t churning out ice cream.

"Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream"

How the hell is it "Homemade" when it's made in a factory and not your home?

While I agree that it is probably the best store bought ice cream, well, actually Marble Slab Creamery vanilla is better, but, the best ice cream that I have eaten has to be home made ice cream from one of those ice cream makers using rock salt in the cooling process.

They didn't hide anything. I saw the story on the local TV news back when they shut down the plant. Nothing hidden at all.
