I can't believe people actually do these things to firearms. The lever action with the see through sights is the worst. Dumbasses. I thought that Marlin looked familiar! I actually bought the rifle from the pawn shop in that condition, and didn't realize the can tab was under the scope until I got it home. If I remember correctly, it was a .35 Rem, which is the main reason I bought the rifle. Of course, first thing that had to go were the see-thru rings and POS scope. It was kind of surprising to see the Bubba engineering, guess they ran out of vertical adjustment trying to sight in the rifle. |

I have a friend with a 10-22 that is a tack river. Sold to him unusually cheap by a guy who was in to "custom precision rimfires"
My buddy is OBSESSED with accuracy and if it wont shoot he gnat off a fly's ass he doesn't want it. He doesn't believe in "combat accuracy". He was shooting it after getting it and noticed some black substance under the barrel and investigated further. After disassembly it was discovered the guy had bedded the stock...with electrical tape. My buddy put the gun back together and still drives tacks with tit to this day LOL. |

For all practical purposes, Winchester and Marlin can both be written off as dead. That leaves Rossi, the dressy Henrys, and the used market, and the supply on the used market is finite. I'd go Marlin on this one. A mildly worn 336 or 30AW would be pretty good. The funny thing is that the used Remington-built contraptions have poor resale value, so if one were inclined, they could buy one, clean up the action, and finish it with something other than Remington's rust if you look at it wrong stuff. FDE?
