The point is to protect their sales numbers and hide the damage, and because it's cheaper than paying to pull and dispose of expired product. Buying with the rebate improves their position... which is why they're doing the rebate.

Also, the MIRs are a great way to get the purchase, but there's a low percentage of follow through by the consumers to actually fill them out and redeem them, which will help absorb some of the loss as well

Was at Costco in St Louis--in the shadow of the mother ship.
No Bud Light or Bud on the floor.

At the rate its going here, I bet the mail in rebate will make a case cost $0 in the next two weeks. It’s hilarious because you can get a case of bud for $6. A case of coors or miller is $21.99 . The bud is palleted in the aisles and the miller/coors has noticeable holes in the inventory in the coolers. Bud products are full stocked in the coolers.

It's so bad they have to hide the word "Beer" in tiny letters on the can

I'm such a fucking child, I laughed way too hard at this.

I'm holding out until Bud Light is cheaper than generic seltzer water, then I'll buy a few cases, let it mature in the garage and get properly disgusting, and then use it in the can cannon.

Maybe they are? When your target market is <0.01% of the population you've kind of already fucked up.

Giving Bud money is giving it to LGBTQ.

In 2 weeks it has went from $10 rebate to $15. Its $6.99 per case in my ao. I think it will go to a $20 rebate which will make it $1.99. Maybe it will go to zero.

Wait until it's like buying pizzas in the Detroit area in the 80"s

Buy one get one free or buy one get two free.

The clock is ticking and the beer is expiring....
