If they apologize and admit men are men and women are women, the backlash will be 1000 fold and the company will cease to exist.

If they let it play out, they’ll recover in relatively short order as people (choose to) forget (see the NFL).

IMO, Bohemia always has been, and still is, the best tasting Mexican beer and I think they were bought by Heineken also.

This thread is literally about Bud's parent company.

So in your comparison, you should be talking about P&G.

Sigh. You don't realize I'm actually giving you a benefit in the argument by not comparing P&G. Look up P&G's performance since their woke campaign.

P&G stock was $96 when Gillette launched the toxic masculinity campaign. Their stock today is $153.

Yeah. Go woke, go broke. That'll ring true.

They have literally added $135 BILLION to their market cap since they launched their woke campaign.
I didn't say a boycott of P&G or Gillette worked at all. I just explained how difficult the boycott is/was compared to this simple boycott of InBev.

This.

First of all, I don't think I heard anyone outside of Arfcom talking about Gillette. That "boycott" simply didn't have much scale or enthusiasm to it. The Bud Light conversation is everywhere. Friends, coworkers, neighbors, and randos I meet in public are all talking about it, and it's plastered all over social media. And drinking Bud products will open the door for shit-talking in bars and other public spaces? Yeah... huge difference.

The other thing that is missed in this conversation is market demographics. Gillette has their big Venus line for women, and a lot of household hygiene products are selected/purchased by women. Meanwhile, by volume, I don't think it's crazy to speculate that 80%+ of beer is consumed by straight men. It could be higher than that. The percentage of women that drink beer period is relatively low, and the percentage that drink it regularly in volume is probably microscopic. When your market is straight dudes, making a tranny the face of your brand and saying you want to move on from "frat boys" is one hell of a choice.

No, it will seem to be a thousand fold because the propaganda bureaus will push it, but the actual effect on sales would be negligible because a group that is less than 10% of the market share (all of the LGBT groups) has little to no actual sway on the market.

Something to consider that while 10% (actually it is a bit more than that now, something like 30% of Gez Z identifies LGBTQ+) is in that world, far, far more people know someone and is friends with someone that does identify, and the left is excellent at banding together to support one another.

I think even if they said they were completely wrong, etc etc which they won't, the backlash would be worse than they are seeing today. Something else to remember is that companies need to think 20 years out. Gen Z will be their biggest market within 5-10 years and they are roughly 70/30 liberal/conservative.

Long term, it's far wiser to pander to the left than the right.

The right is shrinking every year. I guarantee Texas goes blue within the next four election cycles. And it will NEVER flip back once it hits that tipping point. This country will very likely be full socialist within 50 years unless we see a HUGE paradigm shift...much bigger than a simple boycott. An actual change in ideology needs to happen and I don't see that happening.

Sort of.

I read a piece yesterday that said Yeungling partnered with Molson Coors for more favorable distribution.

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-molson-coors-yuengling/molson-coors-enters-jv-to-brew-and-sell-yuengling-beers-in-west-coast-idUKKBN2662JW

(Reuters) - Molson Coors Beverage Co TAP.N said on Tuesday it partnered with D.G. Yuengling & Son Inc to brew and sell the family-owned company's beers outside of the East Coast, while expanding its presence in premium brews.

The 50-50 partnership will see Pennsylvania-based Yuengling expand its presence into 25 other U.S. states, mainly on the West Coast, by using its much larger and established peer Molson Coors’ manufacturing capabilities.

Have you ever heard the phrase "If a person is not a liberal when he is twenty, he has no heart; if he is not a conservative when he is forty, he has no head?"

There is some disagreement to where that originated, but most research points towards the late 1700s, and it's still true today. It happened to the Boomers, it happened to the X'ers, and it's happening to the Millennials before our eyes. It turns out, when you spend some years living in the real world and paying bills and taxes and whatnot, it tends to change your perspective and ideology. I see no reason to think the same won't happen to the Zoomers.

I would also argue that a large number of Zoomers who identify as LGBTQ do so less as a result of actual instincts/desires and more as response to the social pressures they are growing up in. Their teachers, celebrities, and some of their peers are pushing them HARD.

And again... who are the big time beer drinkers by volume? It's not LGBTQ people, and it's not liberal white women.

Did some Federal Government dept come to Buds rescue?

I suspect FJB and the FBI will put out an RFP for 100000 cases of Bud Light for the WH 4th of July party to rescue the beer.

Or just plane subsidies Bud to prop it up. You know Bud light will be served in all Government cafeterias exclusively.

It will be the beer of choice at all Democrat functions from now on

No, and no.

I use to make my own beer and it was better than the AB crap and most other beers. This was before the surge in micro breweries. I'm strongly considering doing it again.

If they apologize and admit men are men and women are women, the backlash will be 1000 fold and the company will cease to exist.

If they let it play out, they’ll recover in relatively short order as people (choose to) forget (see the NFL).

Pretty sure Yuengling is in the clear on this and coming on strong. If I decide to drink a beer it will be one of theirs. We also have coop locally which is pretty decent.

Just bought a case of Yuengling and BlueMoon yesterday. I never bought AB. Sure when I was younger I'd drink anything. But as I got older and my taste buds matured and refined. Well you see where this is going. AB sucks and any lite beer sucks. I really like unfiltered beer.

Ab InBev is going nowhere.   They own almost ALL the beer an overwhelming majority of Americans drink. You’re delusional to think they won’t survive a few folks upset about transsexual stuff.
