And drop the Troy irons, and swap the IMod for a B5 of some flavor, and swap the APEG for the BCM grip.

Thank you. Also, why the Trijicon mount over Larue?  I'm generally a Retro/IDF AR guy so this all new to me. My apologies.

Sorry for slight derail. I have a TA33G-H on order (should be here Tuesday).

How good is the thumbscrew mount (TA60)?

Is it passable for use or am I gonna want to search out the bobro one asap ?

The only thing you get is quick detach with the Bobro.

If you don't need Q/D and return to zero, then the thumbscrew mount is great.

You'll note a lot of the rifles in this thread don't have backup sights. That's fine. Part of why you're paying so much for an optic is reliability (ruggedness, no batteries, etc) and another is light weight (which backup sights you'd never need to use would just add unneeded weight).

So, if you don't have backup sights to use anyhow, why would you need Q/D?
If you had a night optic, is the biggest reason.

If that doesn't apply?

Thumbscrews are fine.

Excellent. Thanks much. Yea, this would be a "set it and forget it" optic, dedicated soley to the SR15. So looks like I'll torque her down, zero it in and let it ride.

Thanks for the feedback.

So I just bought another stripped lower.

Also I need measurements for a lightweight barrel profile so my smith can machine my blank. I was going to go with a Ron Smith barrel but the lead time is too big so I went for a Lilja barrel.
