Yep, lets put all of California on the electric system. What could possibly go wrong
One of the lessons I learned reading Blockade The Diary of an Austrian Middle-Class Woman 1914-1924 was one had to act beyond these sorts of laws if you wanted to live.
Ummmmmmm isn't natural gas heating way, way more efficient than electric? Like I can't see how this would be a net positive for CO2 reduction because their power grid is definitely not all renewables.
They should ban natural gas powerplants as well. Solar and wind only.
They'll have Californians eating bugs and chopping of their dicks in no time.
Drat! Those damn kids and their dog foiled our plans, again! We'll get them, next time!
Let us retreat back to our white supremecy headquarters and plan other ways to... Provide low income families with affordable heating. |
What's that state that made it the law that they have to follow all California greenie laws?
lol be they're enjoying it immensely. |
I’m going to Home Depot to buy a bunch of gas water heaters, then sell them to Californians after the ban.
It’ll be like pre ban mags on a larger scale. |
Heat Pumps (even shitty ones) actually work extremely well in that climate.
They have a remarkably overbuilt and reliable electrical grid, so this should be fine. |
And please don't import energy from Arizona or Nevada. We wouldn't want you to virtue signal clean energy and then under the table suck electricity from the grid generated from anything but pixie farts and unicorn smiles.
What about beef?
They should ban beef, and beef products, too. |

Electric heaters are cheaper to install & maintain than propane furnaces. But that difference is made up within a few years - at today's prices. Electricity rates will most likely soar, of course. |
So what do you do about gas fireplaces or ranges or propane grills? I mean come on California! Think of the damn planet! Let’s GOOOO
Virtue signalling once again. People in Cali rarely have need to heat their home.
To show them up, perhaps Wyoming should ban surfing |
What a bunch of dumb asses.
I guess methane from cows is the sole fuel source for heating gas. |
Screw California, they make me want to release the hundreds of plastic bags when the wind is right.
Can things like this be fought as unconstitutional? I don't have a right to heat my home with a common and proven energy source? The State can just ban whatever the fuck it wants? I know, this is more rhetorical, but I don't think the founders intended the state's to be abke to be the new totalitarian monarchy.
By design -- to increase their control of the little people.
'Ok, no one can use anything but energy type "A". ' and soon after: "Ok, energy type "A" is in low supply, so we're going to restrict it via rolling black-outs" |
Turning fuel to heat is much more efficient than turning fuel to heat to mechanical energy to electricity and back to heat with line losses.

The Golden State will ban the sale of all new natural gas-fired space heaters and water heating appliances by 2030
So now government has succeeded in creating a black market for heaters and the fuel to run them.
Actually, this might work in Northern California. They can buy wood burning heaters and stoves, go into the forests and gather up all that dead brush The state basically refuses to clean up. Could really cut down on those wildfires while simultaneously heating stoves for warmth and cooking. |

I want to see CA ban itself into the stone ages for the sake of wokeness and progression.
When they've had enough and whine and complain, I shall laugh. |

The annual investment in maintaining natural gas distribution systems is massive. Why would any board of directors continue to invest in the infrastructure if the state is banning new appliances.
And what did they replace that NG with? Coal power? Wind power that occurs every few days? Solar here and there? It sure has been a super cloudy monsoon season so I guess no power during that 3 month period.
