I love how the government acts with such righteous indignation when you owe them money... but they sure fucking take their damned time when they owe you money. Especially worse, is when they owe you money, because they STEAL YOUR FUCKING LAND ON THEIR TERMS, AND THEN STILL FAIL TO PAY YOU WHAT THEY PROMISED YOU!
Fuck the government. Next time, I think these Farmers should just say "No!" plant their feet on the ground and dare the Government to move them. Our founding fathers would be so ashamed of us. But honestly, what else do you expect from that Banana Republic we call California. https://www.latimes.com/local/california/la-me-bullet-train-cash-20190610-story.html |

Rail authority officials acknowledge they have not yet paid numerous landowners, but so far have not given a reason for the delay.
While landowners are expected to eventually be reimbursed for the property – and for expenses like lost farming production, irrigation replacement projects and road construction – many farmers in California’s agricultural heartland say state officials have offered them a myriad of excuses as to why they haven’t yet doled out the cash. “I am out a quarter-million bucks on infrastructure, and they haven’t paid a dime for a year,” John Diepersloot, a fruit farmer who cleared a large parcel of his peach orchard to make way for the train, told The Los Angeles Times. “I don’t have that kind of money.” https://www.foxnews.com/politics/california-farmers-furious-payments-high-speed-rail |

They had billions to give to illegals for Heath care in CA, but not to pay people whose property they took?

California, like Britain, is a soft tyranny. Both are populated by subjects.

Yeah, that's california and liberals for you.
Propose boondoggle project, steal people's land under eminent domain...promise to pay them, never pay, and then never even do the original project. How about they just sign the land back over to the people they stole it from, hire contractors to put their lands back the way they were before the eminent domain, and be done with it. But of course, california is probably going to keep the land, never do anything with it, and never pay the victims a dime. |
