To race in the GT class at Le Mans you had to build 25 street cars. In 1966 Ford built 31 Mk1 GT40s for the street and 7 were for dealers. This one was a dealer model.

Jim Click, a Tucson car dealer, has this one in his collection, another dealer car.

My favorite part of the LeMans 66 movie was absolutely no mention that it was just a Lola that had already been developed and raced. The car just appears out of nowhere like Shelby drew it up in a weekend and some guys in Detroit put it together.

I have always had a thing for the GT40, and early (1967-ish) Pontica GTO's. Also like some of the 1965-75 Mopar cars.

I have put hands on a MK3. The guy I know has a Mk3, a 2nd gen, and a 2020. All 3 are cool as shit in their own ways.

The Mk3 3 was out of the country, just got it back here, that was a MAJOR fiasco, and VERY expensive with all of the bullshit Covid restrictions in Europe.

He was shitting bricks from the time it left it's home in Europe, until it got back to the states.

And yes,Op, the gt40 is probably the coolest street car ever made. Although, I think I like the styling of the daytona a little more.

I like Novas (obviously).

Yenkos are not remotely in the same class of cool as the cars OP put up.

Got to ride in a GT for about 2 miles before I almost got Paul Walker’d by an old boss.

Even though it's a one-of, the Rossi 917 was an incredible street car.

When you're an actual Count, you can get just about any car as a street car.

Used to have Texas plates.
