All that over a Roman Salute ?

That never was a Roman salute.  It originated as the original salute to be rendered when saying the Pledge of Allegiance.

Yes, but a U.K. law nonetheless, it is the law of the land in England, Wales and NI too.

Awwww.  Bless yer retarded little socks.

Look, despite your child-like attempts at trolling and your rather irrational and blind hatred of all things monarchy I'm going to explain something to you.

Read carefully, because for once, instead of ripping the piss out of you,  I am deadly serious.

1). What happened to Dunkula had nothing to do with the Monarchy.....nothing.  It's Scotland.....Scottish parliamentary jurisdiction.

2). The only people who oppose the monarchy with the same fervour as you are hardcore communists and socialists.  I cannot emphasise this enough....you are a parrot for all the hardline socialist and communist talking points.

3). We like our Monarchy.  It as constitutional monarchy which serves the people.....not the other way round.

4).  You need to move on.  Your hissy fit of 1776 is long gone and your illogical blind hatred of monarchy is no longer necessary nor relevant.

5) Rather ironically you will be pursued across the globe for taxes regardless of where you make your living.  As long as you are an American citizen you will be pursued for tax by the American Govt.
>>1). What happened to Dunkula had nothing to do with the Monarchy.....nothing. It's Scotland.....Scottish parliamentary jurisdiction

Not necessarily.  Scotland has a devolved Parliament and has its own legal system in "Scots Law"

The decision to prosecute is delivered though a different mechanism to the rest of the country as well, via the Procurator Fiscal, and is influenced by Scottish crime priorities.

Scotland also has its own police force (Police Scotland) which is governed by the Scottish Parliament.

So Her Majesty's Government has done more to prosecute a guy over making a pug give a nazi salute as a joke than it has on the kidnapping, rape, and even murder of thousands of girls in the UK at the hands of Pakistani rape gangs.

If you've ever wondered how government becomes the bad guys, here's a good example.

There's a story behind that.

British Royals  one day had a picnic in one of their many vast parks named after their Granddad or something.  They though it would be fun to taking the piss out of the funny goose-step walk and wavy hand of a silly man with a silly moustache.  They shared this comedy moment with the world by taking a photo way back in 1933.

This offended Ze Germanz massively who got so pissed that they invaded a bunch of European countries.

This was considered rude, but we were tied up with a rather important cricket season and decided to see where the man with the funny Moustache was going to take it. When we realised they were going to attack Poland, it dawned on is that our building and plumbing trade would suffer hugely and it might affect deliveries from the continent.  This was considered to be a bit off and a rather bad show.  Polish Vodka and Sausage bars were just becoming popular.

We told Ze Germanz "Oi Fritz, keep yer Bosch hands of our mate's Zubrwka and Kielbaski Mysliwska or we'll come over there and firebomb your cities"

Fritz said "NEIN ENGLANDER HUND. WIR SINT INVADEN ALLES DER DINGE" got a bit arsey and invaded Poland anyway.  This went down like a ripped teabag in the UK so we got a bit tetchy, liberated Europe and pulled you guys out of the great depression - which was nice.  You've continued to build lots of army and blowy-uppy stuff since because, well, it's silly to stop a good thing.

All that from a funny wave by a royal child in garden and a ragey man with a funny moustache and shit haircut.

True story.

Stop the car?

You guys weren't even in the car.

We found you at the side of the road talking to a lamp-post, covered in kebab sauce and trying to roll a fag with a beer mat.

We had to place you gently in the back seat with some crayons and a colouring book and break the news that Japan might have dented a few of your ships.

When you eventually sobered up and realised what had just happened, you did in fairness scoff a bacon butty, neck a cup of coffee and knuckle down, but it took you bloody while to get into the swing of things

The law in question was not passed by the Scottish Parlaiment, nor was it legacy Scots Law. The act was passed by the full U.K. parliament, by Scottish, English, Welsh and Northern Irish Members of Parliament and applies to all of the U.K.

An aside, I was in Northern Ireland a few weeks ago and I have a question about the two pound coin. The front is the queen, obviously, but what is the design on the back supposed to be?

There’s been a few designs....can you recall which one you saw?

The year of the coin tends to be the defining factor for the commemorative reverse decoration.

If so, it is supposed to represent technological advancement through the ages.  The middle ring is something to do with Iron Age design, and the internal ring is the cogs of industry IIRC.  something like that.

couple of points.

i am amazed at the sensitivity and outrage that folks exhibit these days. may be a crime in great britain but similar things cause massive outrage in this country too though we have yet to put folks in prison for hurting others feelings (i suspect this might not be true based on the insanity these days)

second point is this, if i can create the idea of an action that causes outrage and get that idea instilled in the hearts and minds of the general public, then in a sense, i am also being aggressive in a stealthy way. if i can get folks to agree that a word or phrase is insensitive enough, i in effect have created a sort of minefield that my enemies can stumble into and then use their errant ways to attack them, often to the point of getting them fired from where they work or at a minimum being branded as social pariahs.

naive this is. do you think that the 2nd amendment stops them from doing whatever they want? in many states and cities, the 2nd has already be effectively nullified. regardless of what the 2nd says, its being circumvented in places like california, new york and massachusetts. assuming a majority of folks decide that certain types of speech shall no longer be tolerated for 'social' reasons, similar laws will be enacted here. and owning a few firearms wont make any difference (assuming folks still own them). i mean few folks are gonna teach their dog to do the heil hitler and when its publicized and they come for the offender, are gonna grab whatever firearms they have left and die defending their right to have their dog act like a nazi (in jest one assumes).
