Picked up two cans at local Walmart for $89 then went to academy and picked up two more at same price with a 5% discount and $20 in store rebate. I will neck beard all day at that price!! Going back to academy in the morning for last two cans.

View Quote They also had one can of M855 for $89 so I grabbed that. It was in the back of the glass display behind two cardboard boxes of the newer M855 which I think is 480 rounds? Those were marked at $174, don't have the UPC for it though. |

Update on the Academy price match.
One store manager eventually matched 1 can. There were 6 on the shelf that I could see. Given that it was 50% off and I only had the receipt, I didn’t want to push my luck. He wasn’t sure he should do it, but eventually did. The second store had two on the shelf. Armed with the original Walmart receipt and the other Academy receipt, I grabbed both cans and tried to get a price match. After 15 minutes of googleing around (and apparently not finding this thread), he decided not to match it unless I provided the ad or a picture of the shelf it came off of with the price sticker. That simply doesn’t exist, so that was it. I get the impression he was looking for any excuse not to match it because it would have essentially been a BOGO deal. I could try to go back and get the other 5 cans at the first store, but I expect I wouldn’t have a whole lot of success. |

I scored two 50-round boxes of Winchester Train & Defend 130gr .38 Special FMJ and one 20-round box of T&D 130gr JHP for $11 a box. With tax, it came out to $36 for 120 rounds, or an average of $0.30 per round. You can't usually touch even .38 FMJ for that. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

https://i.imgur.com/N6vQlbt.jpg https://i.imgur.com/SG8XYfe.jpg A Walmart had two in stock a city over. 1 hour drive. I get there and asked do you have the cans. He answers, your the 3rd person today, we don't have them. You cant trust 3rd party sites. I told him it is pretty accurate. Can you please look in the cabinets, I know they are here. A manager comes up, and he explains to him that he has already looked for them 2 times today and cannot find them. The manager says the best thing we can do is look in the back for you, but if they are not there, there not there. They come back with 2 cans. I then try my luck at academy in this town. I call before hand, and they approve a receipt from Walmart should work. I pick up one can and go to checkout. The guy price matches it, no questions asked. I asked am I only limited to one? He says no, grab all you want. I come back with 2 more. (I could have asked if they had more in the back, but I didn't want to push my luck). I go back and employee has to ring it up again. He asks for a override again. This time a manager comes up. He looks at the screen, and is like what the heck. He asks to look at my receipt from Walmart. He comments please tell me you left one more for me at Walmart. I said no. He approves the sale for 3 cans. Very nice guys. overall haul 4 cans for academy 6 from walmart View Quote |

Drove about 45 miles to a Walmart that supposedly had 3 cans for $89. Didn't see any out. They checked in the back. Brought back one can. I asked if that was all they had. Checked again and found a second can. I asked a different person if he could check if there were any more he comes back with the 3rd can. They were M193 instead of M855. Still bought them. Thanks OP.

View Quote Sajer, in the bold is an example of a common result with hot item clearance stuff. Often you have to be very pushy, polite, but pushy. I have done the same thing with my daughter, with the same results, as she tends to be a little timid for the wallymegalowfart clearance hunt. If you have the time, getting results often means getting a salaried manager involved. With hot items, the worker bees, as well as some of the "assistant managers", will flat out lie about an item being there, or are to lazy to put effort into finding the item. They know if they tell the majority of people, "nope, do not have it", that will be the end of it. As has been said to many times to count, by myself and many others, it boils down to getting the right worker drone. Get someone who is conscientious about going a good job, the majority of the time, the result will be positive. |

Went to the Maryville store, shows 8 in stock dropped to $89 today. Nothing in the case, not even a sticker where they were. Manager looked in back and said only thing in an ammo can is 1200 rounds of 9mm.
Guess I’m done, that was my last shot. Scored 4 cans total, and my dad scored 1 in another state. Can’t complain. |

South Central PA, dont wait for prices to drop, Im gonna get it before you. |

Does anyone know if you’d be able to get a manager to drop the price based on other prices in the area? Like all cities surrounding have lower price but one or two have them at full price?

It isnt cheaper than PSA. I got 450 rounds of 55gr for 119 shipped.

My store had the 475 boxes labeled for 89. The sticker was for the 420 cans, and they forgot to remove it. I was going to buy them all.
