Drove an hour away to a Walmart that stated 2 cans in stock for $45. They couldn't 'find them'. Not sure if I'm mad at brickseek for inaccurate information or these backwoods hillbillies for not looking hard enough. View Quote Sporting goods manager barely let me say federal 62gr before he said nope they dont have it and people are driving state to state looking for it. |

When this post started the stores around me where either oos or sitting at $124.
I kept checking in and they went from $124 to oos. After seeing this post bumped up last night I checked again. And it showed limited stock at one store and 2 cans at another store. I was able to get 3 cans today $45+tax per can. Thank you op and thank you to the guys replying in this thread Edit to add At the first store the girl tried to say it wasn't there and they don't keep boollets in the back room. After asking for the manager she was mysteriously able to pull it up and find it in the back. The second store the guy knew exactly what it was and where to find it. And apologized for taking so long checking to see if they had any 193 in stock for me. |

I don’t understand why the stores aren’t correcting their inventories when they don’t have the stuff. It’s obvious that at some stores people have checked for the ammo probably 20 times at this point. Wouldn’t it start to drive the employees nuts to have to keep responding to the people who come in and insist they go look again for them?
Right now in my area, two stores are showing two in stock each. The one store showed two in stock 6 weeks ago and I bought both of them. It then updated and said “Out of Stock”. Then it showed two in stock again this week. That can’t be right, and has to be an inventory error. Same thing for another one. I drove over there last week and the guy told me like 10 people had already been in looking for them, but that they couldn’t be found. Apparently like 4-5 employees had looked and it was an inventory error. Wouldn’t you think the employees would have let the manager know by now so that he or she could make the damn adjustment in the computer? It’s crazy to me. Walmart’s inventory system is supposed to be like top 5 in the world |

Quoted: That worked worse than Brickseek. It returned one store local to me. I can’t find any sort of advanced search function. Only thing there is “local inventory lookup” and it’s nkt nearly as effective as brickseek View Quote Also, dexter lists in order of cheapest with largest quantity and descends in stock level/discount over distance/closest. |

Quoted: I'm convinced that the stores with "missing" cans have an employee or two that knows where they are. Of the 3 stores I've tried, one of the SG employees said they bought it for themselves. He wasn't a dick and was straight up about getting cheap ammo. Can't fault him for that. What irks me is the ones that refuse to even consider looking elsewhere. One employee told me there was a nation wide shortage of ammo. I pointed out the 475 rd boxes and he said it was totally different ammo. All well. Good luck til next time! View Quote Six weeks ago, that store had two cans marked down to $103. I drove across town and bought them. 20 minutes after I bought them, I checked brickseek and it said that store was out of stock. The inventory updated correctly. Then a few days ago, I checked and it says there are two cans there for $24 each. IMO, that leaves three possibilities. 1). The store had an incorrect count to begin with and found two cans collecting dust in the back somewhere, which they scanned into inventory and put back up for sale. 2). The store received a shipment containing two cans and put them up for sale. 3). The store is out, has been out for weeks since the day I bought the original two cans, and this is an inventory error. The first two scenarios seem pretty unlikely to me. In any case, were either true, this is Jacksonville. We have an extremely active shooting community here and I have to think that a bunch of people have gone in there asking about them. They’re like $24 a can, according to brickseek. Those things would be long gone if they were actually there. And though I might be willing to take a drive over there and have a look, I know that the only way to be really sure about it would be to ask a manager up front to scan the barcode and scour the back. Since that’s standard practice in this thread and elsewhere where this is posted, I think that manager would practically trespass me for asking them to do it again, as I probably am the 20th person this week to try. If I had any certainty they were there, I’d assume they were being hidden by one of the employees and give it a shot. But they can’t possibly be waiting for it to drop further in price. These should have been bought by anyone weeks ago, and certainly by now if it’s under $30 a can |

So my local Walmart had 2 in stock several weeks ago when I first started following this thread at $89 a piece.
But once I was able to get there they showed “not in stock” . They’ve been not in stock for the last 5 weeks. I’ve been checking everyday. Suddenly last night they show 2 in stock at $45 apiece. Today I went to get them and asked a little girl to scan the barcode and see if it was in stock. She said I can’t do it, it takes a manager. Then stood there and looked at me like I was supposed to leave. I said well let’s get a manager. She paged one on the intercom. Then Some guy walks by and says what do you need? I’d like some ammo. So he scans the barcode and says oh this is a clearance item not for re-order. I can tell you right now we don’t have it. I explained it showed out of stock until last night. Then 2 in stock. He tried to brush me off by saying well I know we don’t have it because it shows we haven t ordered it in the last 19 weeks. I asked will you look in back? Anyway he went in back but I think he just went to the bathroom since he was zippng his fly as he returned saying nope we don’t have it like I told you. Fuckers. |

The people that work there hide Ammo and I’m sure other good deals for themselves or their friends and family. All you can do is ask. The key is to get there before the staff know about the deal and buy it.

I can verify this.
When walmart clearanced out firearms, I wanted the Savage 93F. Store said they didn't have it. I get to the store to pick up the 30 dollar scopes and ask the clerk about the rifle. He said we have it, coming back with the rifle and 22lr ammo. He was upset people were stashing things. So I bought both items. With the coolers, a walmart employee followed me around the store after I found one of the Orazk coolers, looking for the other one. She was upset the sporting goods guy didn't tell her the price dropped again. She was waiting for payday to buy one of the coolers. I bought both. Quoted:

Found two more for $45 yesterday, associate was adamant that they only had one is stock and the other one was sold a few days ago. Department manager tried to explain to me that online inventory takes 72hrs to update and that it must not have updated yet. She then tried to say that the inventory is just wrong, and then explained that she had a whole cage of ammo in the back and wouldn’t be able to find it. In my experience, Brickseek updates within about 30 minutes and has been spot on. After about 10 minutes of being persistent and speaking with another manager, she agreed to look in the back for me and miraculously found it. She said it was on the desk in the managers office. If brickseek says it’s there, it usually is. Be polite but be persistent and get multiple associates involved if they’re giving you the run around. For the record, I did not mention anything about Brickseek to the associates.

Just tried the Shelby, MI store. Brickseek says 2 in stock. The lady looked all over and couldn't find them (works in a different department). She said they may be on the truck which won't be unloaded until 10:00. She did say that if they were being hidden that someone would be in trouble.
I won't be able to go back. Good luck to the next one that tries. |

Understocking merchandise is a violation of company policy. I wrote people up for it.

Well OP I appreciate you sharing this with me and I’ll continue to check the Ammo counter at my local when I stop in there but I’m done making a special trip.
Fuck my local Walmart. These are the salad days of ammo right now and I’m not making any extra effort to get a good deal when I can buy online for good prices. |

Btw, why do we not speak of Brickseek to Walmart employees? Did I miss something?
I haven’t done it (had them scan the barcode once), but I don’t understand the subterfuge. |

I did not mention brickseek when I went to check in stock Ammo at my local.
I asked them to scan the bar code and see if it was in stock. Which Walmart’s system said in stock but difficult Walmart employees really didn’t give a shit and argued that it was not here, no way, no how. Without even looking. Fuck them. I’ll spend my money with SG Ammo. |

Drove a half hour to Tacoma this morning because Brickseek said it was in stock. Spent more time than I had trying to wheedle the employees into looking for the ammo. None of them would even go look. Fuckers.

On a road trip from MI to FL. Struck out on a store that showed 3 cans for $17 in southern Indiana. Took one of the $45 green tip cans on the Outter Loop in Louisville, there’s still one left in the ammo case. Someone go grab it.
