Oh hell, all this talk from people that they'll do this or that.

Bull cookies, if anything along those revolutionary lines occurs it will, as usual, come from someone living in Michigan.

I'd happily go visit ole Dad in El Paso (he's buried at Ft. Bliss), seeing as I doubt my new state of residence would ever secede.

I wonder if I could do a property swap with an Austin Liberal clamoring for a way out?

He lost me when he said Texas had the right to secede in our annexation agreement. Totally false.

Other than that I agree with the sentiment. But I realize that the contest for freedom more than most can or are willing to bear.

But for it to work right New Mexico, Colorado, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Kansas would need to come as well.

This would ensure abundant water, natural gas, grain, and textile production to go along with Texas' technical-manufaturing- cattle industries, and sea ports.

We could send all of the libtards in the region to Detroit, where the real estate prices are cheap and the political structure is right up their alley.

You forgot Wyoming.
Natural gas there would keep them energy independent for the next 100 years.

In a world where the unraveling of the US, and the dooming of both the residents of TX, and the rest of the union to destruction is a 'good thing'...

See my original comment....

Nothing good can come of an attempt to break up the union - regardless of the success or failure of said attempt...

OOOOH the pretentious sarcasm meter is off the charts. Good for you but I think you forgot
at the end of your post.

You seem to have a very limited recollection of history. There are far more examples of successful secession than of failed attempts.

Oh and as far as the OP: tldr

I'd like to see some of these example of successful secession and to see how well they fit the current world situation.

I'm sure you realize the reality that the US is in danger of becomingirrelevant on the world stage and turning into a bulkanized collectionof two or more countries will only jump this process ahead decades.

Can't wait for a china ruled world? Succession is the fastest way there.

Succession would have ruined us 145 years ago, and it will ruin us now.

Things are different than they were then.  China is going to rule the world anyway.  As for secession, I'd be ok with Ohio and Michigan going to Canada.  In the long run, we'll probably come out ahead in terms of gun rights.  Yes, we'll be a socialist country, but at least we won't have a president that runs around the world bashing us.

I wonder, if TX wanted to leave the union, and offered up enough money to buy there way out, if the democrats would just let them? If done right I bet TX and a few other red states the libs have no hope of ever carrying could leave in peace if they made the right offer. It would let the democrats cement control over the rest of the county, and give them some cash they could spend on stupid bullshit.

These threads show the seed is already planted for eventual secession movements. If something is said enough times it becomes "no big deal". Follow that with talk of secession becomes hip and cool. Break up of the union is inevitable somewhere. It will be similar to the philosophy of tell a lie enough and it becomes truth. Most Americans don't define reality themselves and just follow what's "cool".

Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and Louisiana would give a good balance of power, ag, natural resources, chemcial, bio, and nuclear weapons.  Good balance of other weapons, the best medical resources in the world and plenty of port space.
