Student loan forgiveness is a bad idea. Holding crooked lending servicers accountable and mitigating their fuckery is not a bad idea.
People who didn't go through the loan nationalization fiasco in 2009/2010 have no clue how fucked up things are, or why. Doesn't matter how much you want to pay off your loans - you can't really do fuckall when the Dems contract them over to servicing companies that don't have office space, phone numbers, a mailing address, or employees to service them. |

But you don’t want to leave that million extra dollars on the table! Well, maybe. If it works out. View Quote It's a roll of the dice with many degrees, even STEM. I've got an engineering degree and still couldn't find a job right out of college, so I took that plant job and busted my ass for a year. To be perfectly honest, I learned more fixing screens, troubleshooting conveyors, and running equipment for a year than I did in four years of college, and that experience landed me a pretty great position with my current employer. (On another note - many of the engineering grads who got their degree at the same time as me took months after graduation to find jobs, and many went to grad school to buy themselves some more time. Even STEM isn't a sure bet now, and it doesn't help that the quality of instruction declined noticeably while I was there) |

You are an idiot to get a STEM degree now.

It needs to happen, along with a restructuring of how we finance college education.
But the American People are like crabs in a bucket with no sense of national identity. They will gladly cripple these kids with debt owed to the tax payers, so they can’t have start families or have kids. All while we import third worlders to spit out kids, dump money into subsidizing them in the country, so they can hopefully prop up our social programs for the elderly. I hope it all burns. |

Made it through almost 1/2. He is a perfect example of someone who is to ignorant to go to college. First problem is he said the average graduate is late 20’s to early 30’s. A full time student should graduate at 22 for a batchlors and 24 for a masters. So sounds like the average graduate partyied his 20’s away, then realized he or she was expected to pay it back afterwards. If you are going to graduate in your late 20’s, you should have been working through college and preventing the student debt in the first place.
Student debt is largely a self fulfilling problem. You give kids easy loans, kids don’t respect their educations and colleges jack up their fees. —- That said, I bet if you do run the numbers, free tuition can make sense. The only problem is we already have that via ability based scholarships and specific public paid tuition for certain specialties and or certain individuals - such as military. —- My wife was a perfect example of why student loans suck. I paid off $20k of her’s, her father paid off the same - she never carred enough about college to get a degree. |

Great .... does this mean I get BACK the money I spend paying off my student loans ??!!
Funny no one talks about the connection of ever increasing tuition hikes to gov. guaranteed loans |

Stop government loans/grants and watch how quickly college becomes affordable, its not rocket science. Same thing with health insurance, same thing with the CRA/Mortgage crisis, etc. When you inject fake $ that ppl dont have and cant really afford, prices go up to match the unaffordable level then those that could have afford it no longer can and we have to add more fake demand until the .gov runs out of $ at which point it has to create or steal(tax) more until you have Venezuela and a bunch of corpses of citizens.
No more fucking loans you cant qualify for based on a risk determination from a lender. |
