It's a big deal.

If you see an attractive black man with a white or asian woman, you can guarantee there's black women around that guy who are 9 kinds of pissed off about it. They see it as diminishing their options.

I totally agree with your sentiment. But the sheer action of him doing it is racist as fuck. You need only to reverse the roles insert names like Brad Pitt and say Halle Berry, see what kind of outcry there is.
