I experienced this as a teenager riding dirtbikes with some buddies under some huge high-power-line towers. The cop explained that it was still private property but that the power company had free access to it, not the general public. He was cool about it and we understood. But 3-5 feet off of public roads? I’ve never heard of that being instant private property. |

Sgt should be unemployed (as he is now). Should have shown up, asked subject a few questions just to make sure he doesn't isn't a threat to himself or others, make sure he understands where public/private property division is, issue trespass warning, tell him to have a nice day. Then go tell property owner you've advised the subject where their property starts and to call back if he crosses onto their property. How hard is this? I would like to know more about the policy violations and his connection with the property owner. FOIA I'm sure the auditor has sent should have interesting results.

ABC 15 obtained Morrison’s certification and training records from the S.C. Criminal Justice Academy.
The records state Morrison resigned September 15 from the Florence County Sheriff’s Office after working with the department since 2014. The Academy’s records say Morrison is under internal investigation. The records state yes to the question, “There is a pending criminal investigation on this officer” and no to the question, “There are pending criminal charges on this officer.” The South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy says Morrison has worked in law-enforcement since 2006 for a total of about 16 years.
