I'm with Bob on this one. I think it needs to be tried and then tried in the courts. The 2A is an individual right and the Dick's is a place of public accommodation. Ergo, refusing to sell something based on age with no statutory restrictions should be actionable. Paging @nolocontendre to the white courtesy phone. ETA: Dicks is a private company, that is there for profit. It is not a public right to be able to go into Dicks and purchase items. The 2A isn't; "...shall not be infringed." There is no restriction on who may or may not infringe, the right itself SHALL NOT be infringed. This is the strongest wording in the Constitution. But regardless of my take on this issue, you've created a false dichotomy. |

A stroke of genius!
Dick's and other outfits are going PC and shucking EBR's so let's financially burden one of our remaining (and my favorite, BTW) chains that hasn't went PC-fuddy. Brilliant concept. |

The “Their Rules” didn’t work so wel for the bakery in Oregon... I dont think you can discriminate based on age, but I failed that part of law school. View Quote An FFL can decline to sell to a buyer for any reason. If they smell bad, give a bad vibe, wear the wrong brand of shoes, anything. |

Look like one of them, quack like one of them. Even be sympathetic to their cause in word and emption. And they will open up to you. 1)dress very nicely, act like it's your first firearms purchase. 2)pick a fudd gun, something you "want to take hunting". Act like a new gun owner who just wants his self purchased first deer rifle. Ask intelligent, but noob question about the process but don't ask age questions. 3)try to purchase said fudd gun they will open up to you like clockwork. |

I would think that if they offer firearms for sale, and the federal and state law shows that you fall within the legal age to purchase, and they refused based on age, then they are in violation of the civil rights act, which includes, race, sex, and age.
If they deny you for any of those three reasons, them you have a suit. Best thing we can do is have a black female of 20 years age, to go in for the sting. There are many reasons they can deny you, even that they don't like your shoes, but those three they cannot. If they state age is the reason, they're screwed. |

I'll say this. I believe that you should be able to choose who you sell to and any reason is fine. Your business will either prosper or it will wither away based on your choices.
Freedom of Association. Lawsuits like this , and if we're smart, hit every liberal stronghold with demands for service and product that "triggers" them will force them to back away from this as a tactic and work towards freedom of association themselves. |
