Who other than the bible had a "Check List" of signs before the world ending? I forgot the list, but the last item on it was Aliens.
Slow start makes sense but not at the hyper-exponential rate we're going, we went further in the last 100 years than we did in the 2000+ before that. Once communication ease established and 'base rules' were agreed on, it would grow fast, but I don't think they needed 300k years to get that far, but who knows. |

I think I truly underestimated how strong confirmation bias amongst Christians is. I mean it's obviously strong among people who are interested in "alien" phenomena, but if Arf is any kind of gauge on public reaction I wasn't prepared for how many people would view extraterrestrial life as fulfilling some sort of anti-christ/demon prophecy.
Lots of people want disclosure and/or proof of alien life, myself included. Always found the topic fascinating, but I had thought more religious people would view it as a sign for doubt, rather than a confirmation of their faith. |
