We landed on the moon but the aliens told us to never come back again

Why would someone want to believe we didn't? It one of the coolest technological achievements ever.

Somehow the 400,000 people who worked on the Apollo program managed to keep the world's biggest secret.

Of course we can do it now.  But it would cost a lot of money and take the dedication of the government, and we don't have that motivation right now.  Absolutely no reason to go.  So we don't.

Do you know we are, as we speak, building equipment to return man to the moon?

Shhh! No one is supposed to know.

I don't know how many people worked on the SR71 Blackbird nor the Stealth bomber but they managed to keep it a secret until the government released the details of the planes.

about 1/100th  and the gov made it public within 15 years cause they knew they couldn't use them without people knowing.   They were already open secrets in the military/ industry.  Look at the manhatten project,  EVERYONE in academia, politics, and the local area knew.

Wasn’t there some statistic about how UFO spottings, up until the announcement of the SR-71, were at an all time high, Then after the announcement they dropped off.

The lunar lander looked like it was made out of paper towel tubes and aluminum foil. You will never convince me that 6th grade science fair project made it all the way to the moon.

It pretty much was,  no reason to make it to last more than a few days,  and as humanly light as possible.    Alot of it was like triple tin foil.   Why it was successful landing on the moon.

We landed on the f---ing moon. We can't fake the data from the telemetry downlink today and we sure as hell couldn't have done it back then. End of discussion.

There were radio enthusiasts who monitored voice communications with big dishes pointed into space and at the moon, between the direction and the doppler shift they were there. One of my neighbors growing up listened to them.

We have accomplished exploration that is magnitudes more complex than putting man on the moon.  Putting a man on the moon was more of a publicity stunt done to stay ahead of the USSR technologically.  We not only did it once, we did it 7 times.  We also have numerous unmanned landings.  Once we accomplished it, there was really no point to keeping the Apollo program going.

Now we have put numerous probes on planets around our solar system much rather than the moon, we have flown 13 successful missions to Mars (4 other countries have flown only one each), including multiple rovers on the Martian surface.

We have flown missions to land probes on moving asteroids, collected samples, and returned them to earth.

People who think the Apollo missions were the pinnacle of space exploration obviously have not been following all the cool shot we have been doing for the past 55 years.  We have gone way beyond the Apollo missions technologically, and we are only getting started.

I guess it’s easier to just refuse to believe we ever did it though.  LOL.  People truly are incredulous and stupid. “I can’t comprehend it so it must not be true” is their mantra.  Keep disbelieving while the world passes you by.

This statement shows that you are indeed retarded.

You realize the guys that designed those systems, calculated flight paths, orbital mechanics, etc, were 10x smarter than today's engineers.  I have worked with so many morons today.  They can't accomplish the most basic functions without using Google.  Figuring stuff out is just not in their DNA.  They are too focused on TikToc, craft beers, and other unimportant shit.

we've walked on more than the moon, and we haven't been the first.

If the tic-tacs are ours, and real, it's a reasonable inference.  At least the first part.  Which also would lead to the question of why we were screwing around with SpaceX, if you already have that kind of propulsion tech.

Though how revolutionary would it have been if we'd found something on the Moon that showed some intelligence had arrived long before any humans in the 60s?

Aside, actually crunching the numbers, you'd need a 600 meter wide mirror in order to resolve 1/3 meter across details on the Moon, if Rayleigh's criterion/diffraction is the only thing stopping you.

Kind of amazing we can "see" planets around other stars, given that, though we're not resolving them as in that definition.  It does make me wonder what a hundreds of km wide mirror in orbit could see for astronomy though.

There's shit we left on the moon, including a reflector.  If you know where to look, or where to aim your laser, there's your proof.

Unless you think the moon isn't real, too.

If the US had not, given the times, the Soviets would have been all over it screaming from the rooftops.

Times were different, we were in a race, and space x , given the same  unlimited budget and few constrains, land and return a man in what, 5 years?

Yeah if a modern equivalent amount of money was pumped into it would do it again no problem.

Also the tech developed and lessons learned, went into ICBM tech.  So don't kid yourself that we were spending all the money for exploration...

That's another reason we haven't been back.

to me,the biggest reason I  know we landed on the moon is because the Russians didnt say anything about we didnt. At that moment in time it would have been the greatest propaganda feat of all time if they felt we didnt land on the moon. They would be overjoyed to let the world know we faked it.Also Russia would have put a man on the moon so they would be the first ones to do it.Did they? Nope
