Get ready for more "Indiana Jones." Disney announced its plans to release the fifth "Indiana Jones" movie starring Harrison Ford on July 19, 2019. Steven Spielberg will return as the film's director. "Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can't wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019," Disney chairman Alan Horn said in a statement. "It's rare to have such a perfect combination of director, producers, actor and role, and we couldn't be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven." A new "Indiana Jones" film has long been rumored, occasionally with different actors taking over the role from the 73-year-old Ford. But the actor will return as his famous archaeologist shortly after reprising his other indelible character: Han Solo in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." The first "Indiana Jones" film, "Raiders of the Lost Ark," was released in 1981 and is considered one of the the American Film Institute's 100 Greatest American Films of All Time. "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" came out in 1984 and "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" followed in 1989. Fans then had to wait until 2008 to watch Ford reprise his role in the poorly received "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." The four films grossed nearly $2 billion at the global box office combined. |

View Quote I still weep over crystal skull. If Shia Ladouche was my son I'd immediately kill myself. |

Being chased by a boulder is going to be a hell of a lot more fun when he is in a wheelchair.

The first two were good....and the last two sucked. Kind of like how star wars did with the first trilogy and then the prequels.

It would hard to be worse than "Crystal Skull"
I mean surviving a nuclear blast in a refrigerator Then the whole interdimensional beings |

Maybe they kill him off in this one too.
Long lost son he never knew he had shows up to take over the exploring rolls. Indy becomes the same character Sean Connery played. The franchise goes on. ETA: in this PC world it will be his daughter and not his son. |

I heard Disney just contracted with Tata Consulting to replace Harrison Ford with famed Bollywood heartthrob Bhutakri Patel - a real song and dance man!
While Patels credentials as a serious actor are questionable, he will receive no producer credits or gross percentage stake in the film. His Per Diem expenses are surprisingly low. |

That's the only way I see it working, he looked really rough in Star Wars. 2019? I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't make it that long. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

If Kasdan writes it (not likely), I'll be there opening night.
Otherwise, I'll catch it on DVD. From Redbox. With a free rental code. (... Crystal Skull was awful. ) |

If the plot of the movie is Harrison Ford handing the fedora and whip to Chris Pratt, then I'm on board.
If Shia Lebouf is involved in any way I wish a pox upon their houses. |

I believe they should re-cast Mutt with Chris Pratt. Then it will be fine.

I predict he dies within the first 9 minutes of the movie and Shia Lebeouf takes over the franchise.

Disney did a soft-reboot with Star Wars and it kicked the shit out of Avatar in just 2 weeks at the box office, and got very high ratings all around. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I'm as big a Star Wars fan as the next guy and I thought that movie was horrible. It was just the same shit as before but with an even bigger Death Star. They even blew it up pretty much the same way. Han Solo looked like shit and showed his age. A completely new story line set in the same universe would have been so much better than rehashing the same story with younger actors. |
|
It's actually going to be a completely different take on the Indiana Jones franchise. No action, no adventure, just Dr. Henry Jones telling his archaeology students stories about his heyday while he shows them stuff he found raiding tombs. Then he goes home, pets the dog and has dinner with Marion. Roll credits.
