I'm currently watching The 13th Warrior, which is free on Hulu. I think it is ranked as the number one box office flop of all time. I love it. I've probably watched it a half a dozen times, which is a lot for me. I watch very few movies more than once. Are there any that you guys like?

20m on 15m. It did quite poorly at the box office and in critical reception at the time. It didn't become well known or well received until later.

People weren't ready for the tone and style coming off of Carpenter's other work.

I liked it. It was a hell of a lot better than the Postman or Mailman or whatever the fuck, that other TEOTWAWKI movie he did.

What about "Way of the Gun" and "Thief", were they considered flops?

I thought John Carter was a great movie to. I guess I'd be a terrible movie critic. I just don't understand why the 13th Warrior did so poorly. I think it's an iconic movie. There's so many famous quotes from that movie. And every scene would make an awesome still photograph.

First Blood. It bombed at the box office. Didn't become popular until video release. People couldn't accept Stallone as anything other than Rocky. Loved it when I saw it on the big screen.

I liked the girl with the dragon tattoo that was directed by David Fincher. Since it flopped, they're not going to make the other two movies.

Plus it got overshadowed by another alien stranded on Earth movie that was released just a couple of weeks before it was.

You mean Jeff Daniels.  I was an extra in that exceptionally stinky movie.  Jeff Daniels was a pretty good guy but Robert Duvall is a dick in real life.  C. Thomas Howell OTOH is so friendly and laid back you could very easily see yourself having a beer with him.

Oh, and the kids who played the Confederates were throwing rocks at each other.  They had to stop the filming to yell at them.
