Yes, especially to the gym.

I look homeless when I do.

Nobody bothers me or tries to sell me anything.

I'll wear a zip up hooded jacket if it's cold enough.  Never a pull over hooded sweatshirt.

I get the feeling the non hoody wearers have large fedora collections.

if you're not wearing a hoodie or Carhardt jacket in Alaska then we know you're not from round here

That's like half my outer wear. Wear them often.

The Amazon Essential ones are actually decent quality, thicker cotton, and cheap too.

Only when it’s cold. These young guys wearing in the heat makes me think they are concealing something.

Often. Almost NEVER put the hood up though

No, I don't even own one.

Of course.  I'm a fan of being warm and comfortable.

Yes but I prefer a zippered instead of a pullover, easier to deal with the layers. The hood only comes up when it's windy or I'm out for extended periods, not a fan of the restricted peripheral vision

For a few weeks out of the year when I need more than my unlined work coat, I have my Carhart FR hoodie. Water resistant, windproof, & extremely warm. By the end of February it is too hot to wear.

Like around other people out in public? Yeah no. In my house during the winter months? Sure. That’s why it’s called lounge wear. You can do whatever you want though. I’m not a fashion snob or the fashion police. Don’t wear sweats around and think other people don’t notice.

I used to, when I lived someplace where it got cold. Now, not so much.

I have at least five different fleece jackets and wool sweaters that I wear in the winter,  you won't catch me dead in a hoodie.  I'm not in high school anymore, and BUM Equipment no longer makes clothing.

ETA> I take that back, someone bought the BUM trademark, but their stuff looks retarded now.

Sure

I’ve got about 5.
Why wouldn’t I wear them?

So....let me get this straight....jeans with a t-shirt is perfectly acceptable casual wear but jeans with a sweatshirt/hoodie is not?

Oh, I don't.  But trying to figure out the way some of these minds work is damn near a full time job.

Surprised by the answers thus far.  Thought arfcommers would be more concerned about situational awareness.

I hate hoods but the one I have is extremely comfortable, warm, OD Green and help hide a full size pistol on my 135lb frame. What's there not to love?

Zipper hoodie.  Don’t like pull overs.

Only use the hood when it’s real cold or drizzling rain.  Generally flip it up over a cap when working.

Never wear hood around town tho because it limits situational awareness.  Good way to get run over at minimum.

My old hoodie is getting faded and a little worn.  Just getting broken in good!

T- shirts aren’t really appropriate for adults in many situations either. Dress for the occasion.

90% of the time I'm out of the house it's errands to places like HEB, Lowe's, and Walmart.

And to be fair, I usually don't wear t-shirts even then.  Well, maybe for a quick trip just to Walmart.  But 9 times out of 10 it's jeans and some kind of blouse.

When it's cold though, I love jeans and a weatshirt/hoodie.

Stuff like this is casual but I don't think it's sloppy for everyday wear.

Well, that's fair.   They had to grow on me.  I never wear the hood up unless I'm outside and it's freezing.  I couldn't care less what I look like when I'm cold.

Outside of work a T shirt is fine for 90% of what you will be doing.

Edit- I understand some folks might not feel that way if they're fat and sloppy. Hard to pull off a T shirt look like that.

I occasionally even wear elbow patches on my tweed.

I have a ton of t-shirts but when I leave the house to go somewhere other than the gym or walking the dog I usually wear something with a collar.

ETA, not exactly fat and sloppy.

Yes occasionally in cooler weather. Normally it's a zip up jacket with a hood though, over a t shirt.

If the weather and work is really nasty I will wear a pullover with the hood up, then put my coveralls on, then throw on my welding hood

I wear zip up hoodies.
I work on rooftops so a hoodie is practical in colder weather.
When I go shooting in cooler weather there is a strong likelihood that I will be wearing a hoodie.
Hood id only up when really cold.
I don't drive or go into stores with the hoodie up.
I'm in my 50's I'm not dead yet.

Sometimes. Usually go with a zip up fleece though.
