My guess is he willing provided the relatively benign stuff, while withholding communications that are much more incriminating against people still sitting in elected positions. |

So he was "appalled" like every other government official. He wanted the President to condemn the actions, just like every other government official. Is this supposed to be some smoking gun proving Trump incited it? Does it prove Trump did nothing to stop it? Does it prove it was even an 'insurrection'? I'd say 'no' to all those questions, so I'm not sure how these texts are really relevant to the issue at hand (which is, to be frank, a non-issue being squeezed as much as possible for political points; a tactic, which while taken among the unengaged "moderates" will likely find a few bites, is very likely going to fail to stem the tide by next November).
