I got all 4 pulled when I was about 40.
The local(s) more or less worked while he was busy,
But he more or less had to get a prybar and back his truck up to the chair, and hook a towchain to those fuckers to get them out.
After the local wore off, My life sucked.
The script the dentist wrote was out of stock, and it took hours to find where it could be filled.

similar results when I was 30-ish.  Since then, two of my rear molars chipped along the back corner and both rear molars had to be replaced with crowns.  I am quite certain my wisdom teeth removal damaged those teeth?  or left the read corners more exposed to damage from chewing or teeth grinding in sleep?

Also, after the removal, one of the uppers got infected, and it traveled up from the root and into my sinuses.  I have gotten sinus infections ever since then, after never having a sinus infection in my life previous to my wisdom teeth being pulled.

I'd legalize everything and disband the DEA.  The war isn't against drugs but our rites.  Think asset forfeiture.  Too much cash?  Gone.  Burden of proof shifts to defendant whose assets were seized to prove that the seized assets were legally acquired.

I started my journey of being addicted to pills at the dentist.  Wrote me 30 vicodins for a crown.

It's not his fault I got addicted.  It's all mine.  I fucking love opiates as it turns out.

Took me 2 years to kick them.

Really.  I've had 3 crowns and never needed or had prescribed an opioid.  Our culture is turning many into wimps.

My next door neighbor had elbow surgery where they cut and reattached a tendon among other stuff and sent him home with instructions for nothing but  ibuprofen and Tylenol for pain. That's bullshit, this isn't the dark ages.

ETA - The last big kidney stone I had hit me an hour after taking my blood pressure meds so I go to the ER and my blood pressure is normal but I'm dying from pain. I informed the doc that I had taken a 50 mg demerol and a 25 mg phenergan for pain 1.5 hours earlier but it didn't have an effect.  I definitely don't want to get prescribed something and OD because I forgot to tell him about the demerol.  He raised his voice and asked where I got it and that they don't give that anymore in the ER. He would not give me anything for pain until after the CT scan. I told him that my retired urologist gave them to me. I tried to tell him that I had passed over 100 stones and I told him to pull my records since I had been in that ER approximately 30 times in 30 years and that my records show that I'm a kidney stone sufferer and not a junkie.  An hour later he comes in and tells me that I have a 4mm stone and I told him what the fuck did I tell you over an hour ago. I got pretty shitty towards him after that, fuck him. I wrote a negative review about the doctor and the hospital on google and a wrote a negative patient survey that they email to you.

Have this conversation before you agree to have him perform the procedure.

If the post operative care isn't to your liking, find another doctor or oral surgeon that has a treatment plan you can accept.

Correct. If your dentist or any provider is scared to provide the correct care, move on.

Sure, the pill pushers are targeted. At the same time, the monitoring databases have been a HUGE help in Dr. abusers (have 10-20 docs for the same script) and fighting those taking the pills for resale on the black market.

The dentist is scared...nothing else.

This is the sad part of all this.  The underground drug trade has gotten 87 times worse in the past 20+ years.  I was in the hospital I was on oxy for about a week.  It did numb the pain but made me feel queasy and then blocked me up worse than than ATL traffic in an ice storm....

The funny thing is that the cartels are bringing tons of cheap fentanyl across the border on all their drug mules.  You could probably get opiates easier at your local street pharmacy.

I was on oxy and hydro for a couple weeks after multiple surgeries not long ago - that shit fried me, couldn't wait to get off it, but the worst part was the constipation.  I finished that script and never looked back.  A good poop can be such a relief, no way I could ever succumb to opiates.

I'm not advocating that docs break the law here, given how easy it is to get busted - but on the patient side... with alllll the stupid bullshit going on, there is absolutely zero reason to give a shit about obeying the law.

Any of y'all actually think the cocksuckers busy going after regular Americans for being "domestic terrorists" are doing it while suffering without pain meds after a tooth extraction?   Fuck no.   Of course not.  Rules are for peasants.
