I looked long and hard at an EOtech when I got my first AR a couple years ago but it didn't look right when I looked through it(astigmatism). I ended up going with an aimpoint PRO and later upgraded to a compm4s. Glad hindsite doesn't have to be 20/20 this time as it often does for me. I was real close to just dealing with the starburst because I was listening to a bunch of people sing the praises of eotechs at the lgs

Ive had an eotech 552 since 2005 that has functioned just fine. The issues presented here are clearly disturbing. But i wont be sending mine back as its the only RDS i own. What i want to know is this; if Holosun can put the exact same reticle into a t1 size optic as an LED with a 3 year battery life, why in the hell could a company like eotech not figure it out if not for sheer negligence or incompetence? I have one from 2007 and while shooting it turns off and have noticed a POI problem on winter days. I just got my RMA approved in about 2 hours When did you submit yours if you don't mind me asking? about noon eastern. today Time flies, I guess it took about 4 hours Sent mine in about the same time and the only thing I got so far is a subscription confirmation for email deals . Well, did two RMAs online for my delaminated sights. I'll post back any responses and timeline events so others have more info in case they decide to RMA. Thanks Jeff. This put me over the edge. I prefer the EoTech reticle over any single dot. Love it. But I just turned in a RMA for refund. So we'll see.
If approved Im gonna get a PRO at worst or H1 at best. But thanks for the heads up. Sucks. |

I asked for a lifetime warranty and got some bullshit answer, so now that I can't find my receipt, and bought it new in 2010, I don't know what I paid for it, how are they going to work that one out? I have zero clue, I know I paid more than I wanted, but I bought it because the reticle is fast for 3 gun. What's the average price paid?
|
|
Wow. And they only paid 26mil for that kind of behavior? They got off easy.
Will be sending mine in if practical. It seemed to have some zero issues back when I was using it, but I ascribed that to poor shooting ability instead of an inherent defect. Maybe it was both. |

Has anybody been turned down for a refund yet? Were they expecting this? The volume of returns has to be pretty amazing.
|
|
this is good news, now I can get rid of my P.O.S. 511 that burns through batteries at an amazing rate and has seen warranty service twice! CS refused to replace or refund as they stated these sights simply go through batteries quickly and you should just store it without the batt's in.

Damn I don't see how they are going to stay in business giving out all these refunds. I also doubt anyone is going to plunk down big bucks if they design and release a fixed version.
Best I could see is selling their patents for the general form/shape/reticle design to another company and then shutting down the eotech division entirely. |
