I had all intentions on returning mine if it didn’t live up to expectations. I would encourage you to do the same if you don’t enjoy it. Probably won’t happen though

We just find rocks and pile them in a circle.  Kids dig it and it’s free and lasts forever.

well apparently amazon links aren't working anymore but these are the Weber Fire Starter Cubes. They work like a hot damn!

Pro tip on getting your fire started super easy.

place one or two of these on a piece of flat wood, the log cabin stack over and around it about 3-4 levels high, staying under the ring. 10 minutes later you will have a ripping fire. I have used them on green wood and wet wood and it kicked right off every time. I love them.

Had natural gas ran out during landscaping.  Awesome for those frigid winter nights in Peoria, AZ.

If you aren't concerned with aesthetics this is the answer.   Bricks crumbled.   Cinder blocks crumbled.

Next step is a couple of 24.5's welded together.

This thread helped convince me to buy a Yukon over a Bonfire...unfortunately mine got backordered for 3wks.

I have a burnpit currently with a 6' interior diameter made from stacked landscaping wall blocks 2.5' tall.  I have 4ac of fir trees and so I have a ton of tree debris to burn.

Eventually, I'd like to build an outdoor wood burning fireplace similar to the one below set between 2 old growth stumps that were logged about 100 years ago and are now nurse logs to some new growth.

look on craigslist and FB marketplace.   Steel rings are commonly available then finish with brick from store

My neighbor has one and I can’t imagine the flames of hell being hotter.  It works very well.  Granted I’ve made a similar one that’s a lot cheaper with a 55 gallon drum that has holes knocked in it.

I wouldn’t hesitate to buy a solo stove if you have the money.

I think I saw one recommendation for the breeo stove; any others?

Had a solo yukon in my shopping cart but wife suggested looking into breeo.

Breeo says made in USA while Solo is China.

I scabbed an ATV rim onto an old washing machine drum to make a pedestal. The steel they use in the washer drum holds up remarkably well to combustion. This one has lasted about 7 years now with a healthy patina but no rot at all. Who says the front loaders aren’t worth a damn

I have the exact same set up but with a vw rim. It works great.

Quick look at the website - I’m impressed. The searing ring is neat.

My main complaint about the Solo Yukon is that I need to tip over the damn thing to empty out the ashes.

Second Complaint - the domed bottom. As the fire dies down, everything falls out to the sides.

We have a place up in the mountains and built our own and it has worked out very well for us. It’s not something you have to put a huge amount of thought into. It’s just a fire pit. As long as you aren’t causing a fire hazard to your home or your neighbors. Keep it away from your house and put a bunch of bricks around it to contain it and you’re good to go. And enjoy :-) we love ours

I use a shovel, empties it out pretty clean with a few scrapes.
Not sure if there is a difference, but the Bonfire doesn't have a terribly drastic dome to it.  pretty slight.
