FPL update for those that didn't get the email. Looks like it's going to be a while around my area. They will hopefully have an estimate for an up time today. Yowsa. Off to spend money on supplies. I'm heading that way sometime tomorrow...
Hurricane Ian Restoration Update As you know, Hurricane Ian battered Florida for more than 72 hours, unleashing catastrophic winds, unprecedented storm surge, significant flooding and numerous tornadoes. Since then, our teams have been in the field assessing damages and working around the clock to restore power. To this end, we now have estimated times of restoration for some affected areas. The timeframes provided are based on worse-case scenarios, and it’s possible power will be back on sooner. Here’s what we have so far: •Alachua, Martin, Indian River, Putnam, St. Lucie and St. Johns counties will be 95 percent restored by end of day Saturday, Oct. 1. •Brevard and Okeechobee counties will be 95 percent restored by end of day Sunday, Oct. 2. •Flagler, Seminole and Volusia counties will be 95 percent restored by end of day Tuesday, Oct. 4. •Charlotte, Collier, De Soto, Glades, Hendry, Highlands, Lee, Manatee and Sarasota counties are still being assessed for damages and we expect to provide estimated restoration times by end of day on Saturday, Oct. 1. •Baker, Bradford, Broward, Clay, Columbia, Hardee, Miami-Dade, Monroe, Nassau, Palm Beach, Suwannee and Union counties are considered essentially restored. In the hardest hit areas, crews are dealing with extensive flooding, downed trees, and other debris, which makes it harder to restore service. Rest assured, we have a workforce of nearly 20,000 and we will not stop until every customer’s power is back on. We thank you for your patience and we ask you keep safety at the forefront. |
