Remember the rumors of a little Focus/Transit Connect related pickup?
It sounds like it's confirmed for production, and it was shown to US dealers. COO Jim Farley and other executives showed off the still-unnamed pickup to roughly 100 of its highest-volume retailers at a multiday event in Tucson last month, according to some who attended. Ford has indicated to retailers the vehicle will be priced under $20,000, dealers told Automotive News, making it roughly $5,000 less expensive than the base version of the Ranger midsize pickup. One dealer said the sides of the vehicle resembled that of the original Ranger. The small pickup, codenamed P758, is expected to be built at Ford’s plant in Hermosillo, Mexico, and have an annual volume of more than 100,000, suppliers have been told. https://jalopnik.com/new-compact-ford-pickup-will-start-under-20-000-repor-1842219589 The Blue Oval predicts it will sell about 100,000 units annually starting in late 2021, though the United States won't be its only market. Canada will get it, too, and many Latin American markets have a healthy appetite for small trucks. Its more-city-friendly-than-a-Ranger, car-like dimensions could earn it a trip across the pond, too. https://www.autoblog.com/2020/03/09/ford-small-pickup-focus-based/ Coming soon to an auto parts delivery guy near you. |

Cool. With rebates might get down to 17-18k.
This truck market needs some low prices entries. |

It will not sell.
People say they want to buy it, but they won't. |

I might be interested. I live out in the country and this might be the perfect thing to do a trash run without firing up the Ram 3500 or good for a quick run into the city.
Might be too small though. Also you can get a base model Ranger with rebates for under 20k as well. |

All the above companies you listed, don’t do real well in fleet sales. The exception being dodge as of recently (we’ll say post bankruptcy for sake of argument.) VW and Subaru as a fleet vehicle? Lol. They’ve never had strong fleet sales period. Let alone inside tracks to major fleets. Let alone great service networks. VW is trying at it again with their acquisition of Navistar. So we’ll see how that goes in the long term. |

I want something equivalent to a mid '90s Ranger in a bad way. Sure it should have air conditioning and power windows, but I don't need need nav or 28 buttons on the steering wheel. And make it affordable back to those prices which is right where they are pricing these. I will be going to get one asap.
You guys say small trucks won't sell but you have apparently forgotten how many rangers and s-10 trucks were on the road back then. |

I've been one who has been predicting this for a few years, even before they confirmed the Ranger was coming back.
Fleets will buy the most, followed by people over 60. My 65 year old co-worker said she'd be interested when I asked her opinion last year. |

This is definitely what I have been hoping for. Too bad I bought something last year.
Perhaps in two or three years I could find one on the used market. |

Down here Volkswagen sells a lot of these little "trucks". I forget which model they are based upon; but they seem to be very popular. If you are only hauling mulch on the weekends, it would do the job! https://www.volkswagen.com.ar/content/dam/vw-ngw/vw_pkw/importers/ar/models/saveiro_opti/VW-NGW-Headers-Internos-Saveiro01.jpg/_jcr_content/renditions/original.transform/medplus/img.jpg Accountant View Quote |

Two of the men in my family had Couriers in the 70s. Unremarkable in every way.

I loved my long bed 86 s 15 Jimmy.
I liked that weird 93 ranger. 4 cylinder - 8 spark plugs. Price is right. Depends on the bed length options |

I’m pretty sure that I saw one with manufacturer plates some time ago. It looked like a european model.

In 1990, I bought an early release '91 S10 work truck.
4 cylinder, 5 speed, 6 foot bed, standard cab, no radio. 2 wheel drive. $6995. I used to haul a ton of coal. 2 dirt bikes or 1 quad. Pulled my 16ft. fishing boat. I'd buy another in a heartbeat. There IS a market. |
