So Ft Bragg is a Marine and Navy vacation spot now?
Should have been Ft Ridgeway or Gavin, Braxton Bragg wasn't a good Officer anyway. Ft Liberty? What a bunch of fucktards Maybe because all the Fayetteville chicks are shaped like Liberty bells |
|
I don't mind losing the Confederate names in exchange for MoH winners. But "Liberty" is stupid and meaningless.

Why is Fort Benning being renamed after LTG Hal and Julia Moore, but none of the other installations are being named after the spouses, too?
|
|
Some AFBs should be renamed.
The base I work at has a lame name with pretty lame history for namesake. Shaw got shot down in WW1, lots of people did. AFBs need to be named after USAF heros. How about Olds AFB, Yeager AFB and Test Center etc. vs unknown names that in the big scheme of things the namesake did nothing to warrant a base being named after them. |

They can call it what they will.. But, it does not change how I will refer to this place and others.
Just about anything that this delusional monkey does is screwed up. Nope.. I'll continue to call them what I want. |

Fort Bragg will be renamed Fort Liberty.
Fort Hood will be named after Richard E. Cavazos, the first Latino to reach the rank of a four-star general in the Army. Fort Gordon will be named for Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower, the Army general who led allied forces in Europe during WWII before becoming president. Fort Lee will be named for Arthur Gregg, Deputy Chief of Staff, Logistics for the US Army and Charity Adams, the first African-American woman to be an officer in the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps. Fort Pickett will be named after Van Barfoot, who received the Medal of Honor for his service in WWII and is of Native American descent. Fort A.P. Hill will be renamed for Dr. Mary Walker, a Medal of Honor recipient for her service during the Civil War. Fort Benning will be renamed after Lt. Gen. Hal Moore, a decorated soldier whose time in Vietnam is recounted in the movie, “We Were Soldiers.” Fort Polk will be renamed after William Henry Johnson, a Black soldier who received the Medal of Honor for heroism as member of first African-American Army unit to engage in combat in WWI. |

They will not have those new names for long. The Chinese and Russians will put their spin on things soon I would think.

Since we are renaming things, we should also address things named after card-carrying members of the Ku Klux Klan.

I'm really kinda shocked. I really expected Hood to be renamed, Ft. Sheila Jackson Lee. Guess those two Confederate names she sports cheated her out of it.

I'm no confederate apologist and I don't have a lot of nostalgia for confederate mediocrities. That said, allowing the political left to establish this precedent is colossally fucking stupid.
This isn't about national healing. It's about giving the woke class permission to change whatever they want. You can bet if they find out in ten years that Hal Moore made a joke about trannies that installation will be re-named again. |

Maybe it was too over the top? Back then, i guess it was punking the Navy before the VPs officially "came out". |

I was thinking for a second about how humorous that Newman was snubbed by the institutional Army yet again, but turns out he was from South, not North, Carolina.

“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”

Braxton Bragg was a shitty confederate general. Its bizarre it was ever named for him.

It's not just installations that are getting renamed due to wokeness. It seems anything with any kind of Civil War connection is being done away with.
