I've hung in there though 8 seasons but after episode 8-4 I dont really give a shit what happens next.
It was just so distant from the story it began as. Bron wasn't even the same person. The dragons death could have been an epic scene but it just looked fucking stupid and cartoon like with the scorpions

People also forget GRRM has a lot of garbage writing and dialog in the books. D&D added the Arya/Tywin scenes and wrote a lot of the Varys/Littlefinger dialog which were very good. Judging by this thread and many others, the viewers are let down with how far the quality of it has dropped compared to previous seasons. |

This reminds me of something.
The Denver Broncos. Stick with me. 2015 They won the superbowl. I've been a Broncos fan since ~1990 (when I was 8) The team was great 2013-2016 when PFM was the quarterback. But the quality dropped off after he retired. I'm still a huge fan. Us hardcore fans still root for the team, but we aren't blind to acknowledge things could be better. We are optimistic before the season starts, then commiserate when everything goes bad by week 3. Doesn't mean we aren't fans. Doesn't mean we aren't going to watch. We are emotionally invested as fans. We might even analyze the strategy the team is employing, even if we aren't professional football coaches. Does that sound crazy? |

There have been a lot of dumb movies I've watched. I usually watch the whole thing to see how it ends up... even if it's stupid.
It reminds me of hallmark movies. The best thing about them is guessing 1/3 of the way through and then seeing how correct you were at the end. |

I think it's time for HBO to remake The Lord of the Rings with D&D. Some minor changes to make it better.
1. Sam and Frodo are a gay couple. Sam is transgender. 2. Merry and Pippin are female, and are lesbians. 3. Aragorn rapes Arwen in Rivendell because muh Patriarchy! 4. Boromir dies for no reason. Immediately thereafter, Merry and Pippin ninja-kill over 8000 orcs. 5. Legolas and Gimli are also gay. They have a running contest over who has 6. Gandalf returns as Gandalf the Rainbow, and has robes made of the LGBTOMGWTFBBQ flag. He rides a My Little Pony into battle. 7. Because of Aragorn's rape of Arwen, Elrond never sends aid and everyone but the main characters die at Helm's Deep. 8. Merry and Pippin spend the entire time telling the Ents about the Patriarchy and forget to warn about Saruman. 9. Ents show up anyways because reasons and save main characters. Maybe Saruman forgot about the Ents? 10. Main characters teleport to Minas Tirith with half the Rohirrim somehow still alive. 11. Sam teleports to Minas Tirith and kills the Witch King. 12. Frodo is eaten by Shelob. Expectations subverted! 13. Sam puts on the One Ring and instantly Deus ex Machinas Sauron and all the evil creatures at once. As a super oppressed transgender hobbit whose pronouns are xe and xir, it is impossible for Sam to be corrupted by evil patriarchal magic. No one mentions that they could have done this 30 seconds into the first movie and saved everyone some trouble. Maybe they forgot about the One Ring? 14. Arwen become Queen of Gondor, because if you look at this one prophecy sideways it could really be talking about Elros' niece rather than the last male heir of the line of Elros. 15. Aragorn just goes back to being a ranger. THE END.  Attached File |
