If the show went 12-13 seasons like GRRM wanted, some parts would have to be recast and the younger Stark kids would have aged way too much by the end. |

I think we have reached the boiling point again, guys.
No one is happy with the way things are going, and we are (in some cases) turning on each other. Ten years is a long time to put into something as silly as a damn tv show, and it sucks to know it's been "Sopranoed". I will hold out hope that the last 2 episodes don't give us all cancer.

That's why the "inside the episode" stuff is really grating on the hardcore fans, the writers didn't even bother to learn their own narrative, they tell us Jaime strangled his cousin and Dickon is Sam's elder brother and miss a fucking coffee cup dead center of the screen for ten seconds and just abandon the character progression of damn near everyone... These are the same people who gave us every great scene in this show when their hearts were in it, there was a lot of good on screen that didn't come direct from the books, the filmmaker's art. They aren't even giving the fans that. |

Doom Military tactics suck / They also suck in a lot of LOTR and ASOIF Fortifications aren't realistic for medieval warfare / same in both stories Scorpion couldn't kill a dragon / Smaug got killed the same way and so did the dragon stormcloud D&D ruined Varys and LF that had good dialog / D&D wrote most of LF and Varys dialog where's ghost / nobody cares When things turn out the expected way it's predictible fan service. When it's unexpected it's just to subvert expectations. You can't win with the haters, they are just a miserable lot. Shows can't go on forever, all good things have to come to an end. The longer the show goes on, people demand more money and some people want to go on to other projects. GOT is remarkable that with a big cast they only lost a few actors in minor parts to scheduling conflicts or health issues. If the show went 12-13 seasons like GRRM wanted, some parts would have to be recast and the younger Stark kids would have aged way too much by the end. |

What trace amount of hope I had that Dumb and Dumber might turn it around disappeared when I heard "Dany kinda forgot about the Iron Fleet." Personally, I'm kinda enjoying the train wreck and seeing all the Dany fanboys/fangirls become enraged that Dumb and Dumber did their SJW queen dirty. To also see the feminazis go after them for saying Sansa being raped made her who she is today is also enjoyable.

I thought the show jumped the shark in season 7. The Wight hunt and the transformation of Littlefinger into a cardboard cutout were unbelievable and unacceptable. I was convinced this season would suck before it started. But I bought HBO Now anyway.  
To be honest, I liked the first two episodes this year. Three was  and four was  .

To distract from S8 bitching, I have a question about earlier events. When Ned Stark, Howland Reed and the others rode up to the Tower of Joy and Ned found Lyanna, he knew then that Robert's Rebellion was BS (he knew that Jon was the legitimate son of Raegar & Lyanna). He still went to King's Landing and put Robert on the throne. His friendship with Robert went so deep, he ignored legal succession? Put aside the 'honor' he was supposedly so rigid about? There never was a legitimate Baratheon king, and Ned knew it. What's up with that?
I'm chalking it up to another inconsistency from Martin. |
