I only watched the entire first episode because it was at a get-together of friends, it had no appeal to me whatsoever.  It's carefully manufactured trash for the dull witted masses.

you might be surprised to learn the actor paying jaime also played gary gordon in blackhawk down

sophie turner (sansa) is gorgeous

arya isn't supposed to be hot, she's a 10 year old (12-13 for the show) tomboy that looks too much like her father to be a pretty girl, but will grow into the beautiful woman her aunt, who also looked like ned, was in time.

I am not sure who plays who.  I am just going on first impressions.  These people might be super hot and bad asses in real life, not arguing.  I just had first impressions.
I do realize Arry is a little girl, I'm not trying to be a pedo, maybe they held true there and I just expected like most movies that the underdog would be some good looking person.

Never seen it, but knowing HBO the author is probably spot-on.

I know enough about HBO to know they specialize in shows that are titillating and exploitative.  So when someone says they made a show that is titillating and exploitative, I tend to believe them.

Just as you would automatically believe someone on the Internet who said Nancy Pelosi wants to ban your guns without actually bothering to read what she really said.  Based on previous experience, you probably don't have to do any research before you make your decision.

In any case, based on the reviews I don't care to watch it.  So I don't watch it.  Just as some folks here have recommended.

Titillating doesn't necessarily mean bad.   Rome, Deadwood, etc. were all titillating but were still rich stories about the human condition.  Game of Thrones is in the same vein.

OP another thread wherein we get you are not a GoT fan. But the show and the novels are widely regarded as excellent by a sizeable and varied swath of humanity. Consider your butt hurt duly noted for the record.

GRR Martin is an anti-gun liberal. He was a conscientious objector who did alternate service during Vietnam.

That being said I liked the books long before it got popular or I knew of his hippy past and the show is pretty good too.

I've known a lot of libs that are ridiculously good at what they do. As long as they don't interject their politics into their work, it doesn't bother me

I wonder if the author quoted in the OP has ever read much history. Pretty bloody stuff.

The life and times of Genghis Khan comes to mind.
