For the guys who have been there, could you imagine trying to get that many calories each and every day hunting and gathering that environment? I can imagine someone in the Ancient Mediterranean World seeing someone as tall as Shaquille O'Neal and thinking they were meeting some kind of supernatural giant. So even if you believe that myths have a basis in reality, it's not hard to see how those myths might have gotten started. |
