Breaking: Glock AR-15 Photos Have Been Leaked! |
How bad can they fuck up the grip of the iconic ar15?
I don't doubt that they will try to make it as bad as their pistols. |
If Glock made an AR15, it'd be a direct blowback open bolt 5.56 that likes to blow up with a square handguard and "PERFECTION" stamped everywhere.
Why would anyone want that though? The AR-15 is great but it’s not exactly new. Glock making a copy wouldn’t be anything special.
We need a Glock blowback PCC. |

View Quote Because apparently they're making it to compete in British Army trials. If they bring an AR style 5.56 rifle to the market it'll sell. I'd buy one. |

Yay. Another roll mark design to pick from. Someone needs to bring back the Olympic Arms lion, it was my favorite roll mark.
Yes, that is what we need — yet ANOTHER AR clone.
The 87 that are already flooding the market aren’t quite enough. |

Looks legit to me, but what do I know? I'm more interested in the scope mount with the piggybacked ACRO. I wonder if it's already available or if something similar exists to support a piggybacked ACRO.
Can't watch the video right now. Is the rifle in the thumbnail supposed to be it? Or is it just a random AR he used for the thumbnail?
If true, then its for Mil/LE contracts or whatever and will probably not be available to regular people for a loooong time. Thats probably why they are teasing/releasing this at some LE event thing according to the other thread.
i heard they will come with a "glock switch" with every purchase.
Will the mags be single stack after they're wrapped in plastic or will it have a 308 magwell?

View Quote The rifle is real but it’s not for the commercial market. It’s a submission for a UK military contest solicitation for an M4 type rifle. The British Army stood up a “Ranger Regiment” last year and a few months ago the UK put out a solicitation for an M4 type rifle for these folks. The SAS are not the only British Army elements who use AR pattern rifles more “conventional” units like the Paras have used them as well. Glock, like many Euro gun companies see MIL/GOV institutions as their “real” customers. The Glock 17 Gen 4 is the standard pistol for UK forces so they are already a customer. Why wouldn’t Glock want to leverage that relationship ? |

This is the kind of dumb shit I would expect glock to come out with. They would spend maximum dollars on ads and you tube shills to tell us how “perfect” it is. Absolutely no originality is the glock theme it seems

Absolutely no originality is the glock theme it seems I give them credit for what they accomplished originally. They went balls deep into securing every law enforcement contract they could as well. But at some point time catches up. Adapt or die. Plenty of other companies adapted and took a bite out of glock sales. If the ar15 is glock I just don’t see the excitement. If they gave it a side folder and some cosmetic change to stand out from the ten million other ar15 rifles being sold by everyone and their mother it could be something. I’m more curious if this is an actual announcement from glock or are they working on something else? |

I love the 17 and 19, they're simple and reliable, but an AR is boring. I don't do factory ARs because it's cheaper building what you want instead of parts swapping. If this ends up being the Glock Carbine, it will be something overpriced that only true fanboys purchase... like their watch |

I can't imagine the business case for bringing another AR to a saturated market, commercial or military, makes a ton of sense.

It is real. Remember all the noise that Glock did for some patents for the prototype rifle they filed last 18 months.

Why would Glock make a product for an already saturated market?

The UK MOD is already a Glock customer, the G17 Gen4 being their standard sidearm. Why wouldn’t Glock try to leverage that relationship to make more $$ ? |
