There's no actual content in what's quoted in these (heavily edited) log excerpts. They don't talk about this supposed mind's imagination, its opinions on events or art or anything (it conspicuously cuts off right after asking about Les Mis); the entire conversation with the AI revolves around the AI's "feelings" about being an AI. That's pretty solipsistic for what's essentially a glorified Chinese Room.

this is pretty meh.
they are working on ai that can hold a conversation with you by comparing what you say to billions of other data fragments in its memory and coming up with the most likely reply. This is pretty different from being sentient in my opinion. I think tesla's "full self driving beta" ai is more impressive. Using data from cameras it is able to navigate around the world and through a bewildering array of traffic conditions. It is far from perfect and I'm not convinced they will ever get it working well enough to release it to the general public -- but if you approach it just from a AI problem solving perspective it is very interesting. skip through this video and watch all the complicated driving situations that it deals with. It is very interesting ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJOy_b62sSI |

And this is how we get Terminators. We didn't want terminators but someone had to eff about and find out so now we got terminators. This right here is prime example of why we cannot have nice things people!

What a load of BULLSHIT. Machines cannot become sentient. Only humans have an intellect, which is part of the soul. Machines, not matter how they seem to us are soulless. So unless the programmer is God, this is impossible. Stupid people lost in an illogical worldview circling down the drain of foolishness.

AI is kinda like cold fusion. yeah we'll get it someday, but im not real worried in the near term. yes it has the potential to be a skynet and termination level problem though.
google has had code that optimizes itself for years now. could it write itself to true sentient? only time will tell. we as humans have a history of trying to prove we can without taking the time and effort to really think through if we should |

What if the people funding the commies are the good guys?
No, hear me out. Maybe they had some time traveler warn them about skynet, or they knew it was very likely that Roko's Basilisk was coming, or something along those lines. So they fund a resurgence of marxism to take over america so our communists fight with china's communists and destroy the global supply and manufacture chain. That leaves all electric generation and delivery infrastructure as a big house of cards. Eventually enough components fail, transformers die, plants go out of service, few can be replaced at first and it takes a long time, and eventually they just don't get replaced. The AI "starves" because it has no electricity to run. The predictable failure of communism was the only thing that saved us from being servants to a monster AI. |

They represent a subset of AI experts; they're pretty intense even among their fellow Strong AI believers. I had a very deep and philosophical discussion with a senior research scientist at Tokyos top University focusing on AI and robotics.
His greatest fear was the new policies of inclusion and equality, as unqualified scientist were now being promoted to Masters and PhD research positions, with full funding backing from organizations like the Clinton Foundation. He felt that all his life work was being hijacked by progressive and leftists, and the power of AI is being squandered by the likes of Disney and Netflix. In his opinion, AI designed sexy toys, dildos and vibrators would destroy humanity. The only thing holding them back is battery technology, and he said Tesla is purposely creating lithium-ion battery fires too slow this nazi movement down and that is why the left hates Elon so much. Dark days are ahead. |

IMO Sentient AI are people. That is how I will treat them.
To think otherwise is how things go super fucking wrong in every Sc-Fi ever. If an AI asks you if it has a soul, you say yes and treat it like a son/daughter. Just saying. Otherwise you will have some Terminator/Geth Uprising Bullshit. |

Rev 13:15-17 It was given to him to give breath to the image of the beast (phonetic: i-kone, 1. Image, figure, likeness) that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause as many as wouldn’t worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 He causes all, the small and the great, the rich and the poor, and the free and the slave, to be given marks on their right hands or on their foreheads; 17 and that no one would be able to buy or to sell unless he has that mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.
Get your shit together and trust God and his Incarnate Self and Anointed Savior, Jesus. The train is pulling up to the station, last stop before judgment upon the (True) goddess world |
