Stopped paying attention to the other thread did it turn out to be a lie? +1 Oh, and in on 1 The other thread was genuine. When they got there, the 55 million rds of 5.56 turned out to be NORINCO (unimportable), but damcv stated that he will be able to make profits ten times the amount he spent on the entire trip over there. There were pics of him testing out some firearms in -20' weather. Wow, I guess it would have been better to ask if it was Chinese before making the trip... I did. They no speaky engrish. |

Cubans fought in Angolan civil war in the 70's. . . and the Portuguese had been in Mozambique (former colony). . . Didn't the Ports take possession of a bunch of AR10's at some point? . . Anyway connection is most likely via Africa. . . if they are legit. . .

So we have an American citizen (or at least a legal resident alien) travelling to an embargoed country to do business that in no way could be argued is humanitarian aid and thinks it's going to end well? I think not, but hey, It's just me. Wasn't the first clue there are no regularly scheduled commercial flights between the USA and Cuba? getting automatic weapons out of the hands of the evil dictatorship isnt humanitarian enough for ya? |

And a bunch of other mil surp stuff. Ammo, bolt rifles, pistols, holsters and shit. The downside it is in Cuba. A friend of my wife works in the Moroccan embassy down there. He said Cuba needs cash dollars really bad right now and knew I liked the old military stuff. So to Cuba I go. I'm heading down there to check it out and see what it looks like. Hell, it is a trip right? Hopefully I won't get ass raped in a Cuban prison for being an American spy. I have no idea what the conditions are like there nor how the internet will be. I'm probably going to have to tether off my wife's work blackberry. In MIA right now, waiting for my flight. Should be fun. http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb171/sherrick13/IMG_0994-1.jpg Hopefully I'll get a chance to update. It looks like MIA, the floor has those stupid "fossils" |

Quoted: What if this person holds dual citizenship? My niece and nephew hold both Mexican and American citizenship. They can easily travel to Cuba from Mexico on their Mexican passport. So we have an American citizen (or at least a legal resident alien) travelling to an embargoed country to do business that in no way could be argued is humanitarian aid and thinks it's going to end well? On a serious note I have a friend who went last year. Flew into mexico, flew from mexico to Cuba, then did the reverse on the way back, only did it for 4 days and smelled like a homeless person when he got back.

That's what I thought was the only way into Cuba as direct flights were limited and you needed permission to travel there??? |

We can get them here, but they are kind of pricey.
Not a cigar lover, but if you come for the Calgary Stampede or any other event and you are a buff, this is the place to check out ; http://www.epicurecigar.com/cigars.html |

Getting to Cuba isn't a big deal.
And getting ARs or M16s into Cuba isn't exactly a big deal either...it's not like there aren't hundreds of thousands of them floating around the world. Hint: the US isn't the only country that's ever built the AR-15 rifle in one form or another. The real issue is that getting anything brought from Cuba to the US is outright impossible, and if you send it to a third country for re-export, and ATF finds out, that whole deal is going to be denied with prejudice by Import Branch. |

Batista's army had our WWII surplus; Garands, M-1 carbines, Thompsons, 1911s. When Fidel took over, he was Soviet supplied with AKs. How could they have ARs? IIRC, in the late 50s Batista received a shipment of at least one hundred Armalite AR10 rifles, exported by Interarmco. This I can believe. If so, they probably can't be brought back as they were most likely select fire. You get that this is a parody thread, right? |
