Are you paddling to Cuba? If you make it to shore, will they allow you to stay? Is sherrick the guy in the old chevy truck with the floats made on it? |

Sherrick, this will cause the economy to collapse. tm. LOL. Stay safe buddy. Don't drink the water. But if you do, post pics.

Batista's army had our WWII surplus; Garands, M-1 carbines, Thompsons, 1911s. When Fidel took over, he was Soviet supplied with AKs. How could they have ARs? Castro was big on sending troops over to Africa to influence regime changes in the 70's and 80's. Protuguese AR-10s were popular in Africa. Oil companies hired out Cubans as protection for their oil producing sites as well as other personnel all depending on how the poltical winds blew. Bring backs of course! |

I need some parts for a 53 chevrolet. I also want a surplus CIA exploding cigar. See if you can get it demilled there.

So, will you be parting them out? If so, I'm in for a firing pin, or maybe two if you'll cover shipping on the second one.

Prediction: a deal will not be made, but not because the materiel is unimportable.

This just in-me! Gotta see where it's going.
Any minions yet? |

It will be interesting to see if anything comes of this. Yes, I'm skeptical.
I remember watching a 60 minutes show on Cuba and they took tours of some of the bunkers and tunnels loaded with military equipment. Most looked in great shape and was wrapped in plastic sheeting to protect it. So let's think what they may have there. Mosins- im sure to arm the peasants. Garanads M1 carbines Thompsons Maybe some 03A3's 1919 M2 FAL AR10 Ak's of course CZ52 G3's I would also imagine a number of various Mausers |
|
Sorry to highjack. But I thought you would be better and fitter looking considering how pretty and fit your wife is. Little disappointed.

IIRC, in the late 50s Batista received a shipment of at least one hundred Armalite AR10 rifles, exported by Interarmco. This I can believe. If so, they probably can't be brought back as they were most likely select fire. I heard that too I believe they got some early FALs too. Not to mention Johnsons and supposedly IHC Garands. |

Put me down for two.
Need to reserve some funds for all that 5.56 surplus coming in from the other thread. |

Quoted: Quoted: On a serious note I have a friend who went last year. Flew into mexico, flew from mexico to Cuba, then did the reverse on the way back, only did it for 4 days and smelled like a homeless person when he got back. That's what I thought was the only way into Cuba as direct flights were limited and you needed permission to travel there??? MIA to Freeport and Freeport to Havana. |

What a friggin circus. This place fucking sucks. Well I arrived and was immediately assigned a "guide". What kind of "guide" carries a gun and spouts the wonders of communism? Anyway his English is just about as bad as my Spanish. The dude is convinced I'm a spy I think. He took my memory card out of my camera. Said, "you are business, not tourist". I had a spare but I'm going to have to be really careful about not getting caught taking pics. Freaking guy even follows me into the can. Fucking internet sucks too. Slow as shit. Having to tether off their cell system with my wife's blackberry. Anyway I got this from the plane landing this morning. What kind of piece of shit planes do they still fly in Cuba? http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb171/sherrick13/cuba1.png DC-4? Last produced in 1947. |

If these AR-10s and 55 million rounds are located in a bomb shelter under some old mans porch THEN I will start to think conspiracy!
|
|
Hope everything works out for you OP! However, something just doesn't jive about all of this. WAAAAY TOOOOO much risk for the reward....IMHO

I don't really care about the AR10's but there is a little jam you could help me get out of.
Go to the Sol Club Cayo Largo front desk and say you need to pick up something for "fiver" (they'll know what you mean - just ignore their scowls and stay on point). You will eventually be handed a locked briefcase. If they give you anything in addition to a locked briefcase, DO NOT touch it with your bare hands, refuse to accept it and walk out quickly. Then I need you to charter a fishing boat, get at least a mile offshore and throw that motherfucker right in the ocean. |

I wonder if OP is in a cuban prison by now .......or at the very least being detained by the so called "Guide".
Judging by the way he said he was greeted it sounds like just a matter of time... |

Quoted: And a bunch of other mil surp stuff. Ammo, bolt rifles, pistols, holsters and shit. The downside it is in Cuba. A friend of my wife works in the Moroccan embassy down there. He said Cuba needs cash dollars really bad right now and knew I liked the old military stuff. So to Cuba I go. I'm heading down there to check it out and see what it looks like. Hell, it is a trip right? Hopefully I won't get ass raped in a Cuban prison for being an American spy. I have no idea what the conditions are like there nor how the internet will be. I'm probably going to have to tether off my wife's work blackberry. In MIA right now, waiting for my flight. Should be fun. http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb171/sherrick13/IMG_0994-1.jpg Hopefully I'll get a chance to update. Have a salad or 2 while you're down there, your Heart will be grateful |
