Cool! a younger friend of mine got that same type Indian for about the same reason his dad wanted American made not Japanese. My first bike was a little Honda 50. Brand new probably 60’s vintage.

Dec 1979. Kawasaki 500 3 cylinder. Ran like a bat outta hell. My only motorcycle until I ended up with a Harley 30 years later. What a fun bike.
